Parque Ecologico y Recreativo Lago Agrio Perla - Begin your Amazon adventure in Lago Agrio early in the morning. A bus will pick you up for a journey to the entrance of the Cuyabeno Reserve (approximately a 2.5-hour ride). Lunch will be served upon arrival. Afterward, embark on a motorized canoe to travel down the Cuyabeno River. Enjoy the jungle sounds as the scenery shifts along the riverbanks and through the trees. During this boat trip, observe birds, monkeys, sloths, and other jungle creatures, with a guide providing insights into the interactions within the Cuyabeno Ecosystem. Keep an eye out for the pink river dolphins! Upon arrival, settle into one of the cabins and unwind. In the evening, savor a delightful welcome dinner, followed by a briefing from your native guide about the upcoming activities of your Amazon experience.

FASCINATING SUNRISE, LAGUNAS, SUNSET AND A NIGHT EXCURSION IN THE JUNGLE

Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve - Wake up to the sounds of the jungle in your cabin. If you’re up early, you’re in for a treat—a captivating sunrise awaits from the lodge’s front steps. After breakfast, head upriver to explore various plant species, towering trees, aquatic vines, orchids, medicinal herbs, and a diverse array of Amazonian animals and birds. After lunch, visit Laguna Grande for swimming and relaxation, where the sunsets are truly spectacular! Ready for more excitement? After dinner, embark on a night jungle excursion. During the canoe ride, spot black caimans and listen to the jungle’s mysterious sounds.

AMAZONIAN CULTURE, COMMUNITY, SHAMAN

Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve - After breakfast, visit a community project with the Siona Indigenous Community. Immerse yourself in their Amazon culture, learning about their lifestyle, traditions, and customs. Participate in gathering cassava and making cassava bread to enjoy during lunch with the community. Observe the Sumaúma tree, approximately 100 years old, known as the Amazon’s largest tree in height and diameter, reaching up to 40 meters (130 ft). After lunch, visit the Shaman, who will explain their spiritual world, energy channeling, visionary, healing, and divinatory skills. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase beautiful local handicrafts. Return to the lodge for dinner, paddling under the stars. Along the way, spot caimans, night birds, night monkeys, and possibly a boa.

For the community and Shaman visit, a contribution of 5 USD per person is required for the Siona Indigenous Community and 5 USD for the yuca bread.

Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve - Before breakfast, seize one last opportunity for an exciting wildlife encounter. Animals are particularly active in the early morning: monkeys, toucans, sloths, dolphins, giant otters… each day offers something new. After breakfast, bid farewell to the Jungle. The canoe will transport you to the bridge where lunch will be served. Upon reaching Lago Agrio, you’ll be dropped off at the Lago Agrio Airport/Bus Terminal, ready to continue to your next destination.

This 4-day Amazon adventure takes participants deep into the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, one of Ecuador’s most diverse regions, for a genuine rainforest experience. By canoeing through narrow rivers and flooded forests, travelers will explore secluded lagoons, observe wildlife such as monkeys, pink river dolphins, caimans, and vibrant birds, and witness the jungle in its most dynamic state—from the morning mist to the sounds of the night.

Guests will stay in a locally operated eco-lodge and be guided by knowledgeable Amazon naturalists. Each day combines gentle trekking, canoeing, wildlife watching, and cultural interactions with Indigenous communities. With small group sizes, eco-friendly activities, and a strong emphasis on conservation and community support, this journey provides an authentic and well-organized opportunity to connect with the Amazon on a deeper level.
