• Linh Ung Pagoda - Residents of the Son Tra Peninsula recall that during the reign of King Minh Mang (Nguyen Dynasty, 19th century), a Buddha statue mysteriously appeared on the sandbank. Believing it to be an auspicious sign, the locals built a shrine for worship, which brought stability to the region and allowed fishermen to work peacefully for a long time. The sandbank where the Buddha statue appeared was named Bai But (meaning Buddha land on earth) and is the site where Linh Ung Pagoda stands today.
