Hoi An Ancient Town - The World Heritage-listed Hoi An city is situated along the Thu Bon river. This ancient town has been preserved over the centuries and serves as an exquisite backdrop for capturing beautiful photographs. Historically, Hoi An was an international trading port for the Champa Kingdom, dealing in wood, gold, and silk. During its heyday, Hoi An hosted trade fairs that attracted numerous merchants from Holland, Portugal, Japan, and China with their merchandise. In the 18th century, however, as the river silted up, Da Nang took over as the primary port instead of Hoi An.
