- Dakhla - Dakhla is renowned as one of the premier locations globally for learning or enhancing kitesurfing and surfing skills. The lagoon offers shallow, flat waters, the Atlantic coast provides clean waves ideal for beginners, and the wind is consistent for over 300 days annually. Our mobile kitesurf school has been operating here for more than a decade.
The operator will pick guests up from their accommodation in a 4x4 vehicle and transport them to the optimal spot for the morning’s wind conditions. Participants enjoy 2 hours on the water with a coach certified by IKO and VDWS.
Beginners start with foundational skills on the beach (wind window, kite control, paddle, pop-up) before progressing into the water. Most are able to stand by the end of the session. For those with experience, the coach tailors the session to meet personal goals, whether it’s upwind riding, transitions, jumps, or waves.
The aim is to achieve IKO Level 3 (or VDWS Level 5), the international benchmark for independent kiters.
All equipment is provided. Participants should bring a swimsuit, sunscreen, and a towel. Lessons are available in English, Arabic, or French.
Regarding the wind: Dakhla experiences wind almost daily, but if conditions are calm on a scheduled day, the session will be rescheduled or fully refunded.
