A great selection of NT delights - I just finished the 5 day kakadu-nitmiluk/katherine-litchfield tour with Autopia tours. This is a great value tour. You get to see a good spread of locations; an excellent taste of the area in a short time. We saw plenty of saltwater crocs, a pretty big Freshie and plenty of birdlife on the corroboree billabong cruise, with excellent commentary and education from the cruise guide. This tour takes you past some significant rock art sites and some fantastic scenery, in particular heaps of beautiful freshwater swimming spots. You are up early and out all day, often seeing sunrise and sunset (sunset at ubirr rock is a highlight). There is a lot of driving but frequent breaks to stretch your legs, grab a refreshing drink and see some local colour. Accommodation is basic but reasonably comfortable - permanent tents have 2 single beds with mattress and pillow, a short walk to the toilet/shower blocks and the kitchen tent. Food is yummy, healthy and plentiful. We added on a 30min scentic flight over Kakadu - a great way to get a better appreciation for the landscape but high chance to cause motion sickness. Adrian, Our tour guide for the 5 days, was great; kind, calm and organised. On the final night (private campsite) Adrian made a delicious damper on the campfire - another highlight. The airconditioning broke on the final day and Adrian liaised with management to get us a new bus within hours. Highly recommend.

EN top experience with Autopia Tours in Kakadu, Katherine and Lichfield - We had DE and EN top experience on the 5 day tour with Autopia Tours in Kakadu and Lichfield. Guide Leigh tells DE onttzett ENd a lot about the background EN everything we saw, from geological phenomena about plants and animals and rock art of DE Aboriginals to weather phenomena in the Nortern territory. He also cooked a nice meal EN and provided tasty lunches. He helped me over DE rocks to Jim Jim Falls. Leigh was also interested in all the participants of our group EN made it cozy in the evening by a campfire in the camp near Katherine.

Autopia tours NT - Our Autopia 5 day camping tour exceeded our expectations. Our driver and guide, Leath was brilliant and worked hard to make out trip memorable. The fixed camping sites were comfortable and Leath's cooking first class. Have no hesitation in saying the trip was value for money and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a taste of outback NT.

Amazing outback bush adventure with Leigh in the Top End! - Our tour guide Leigh is the best tour guide that I have ever met! He is extremely knowledgeable about the region, and know so much details about the area's ecology, culture and history. He is the abosolute highlight of the tour, who is friendly, passionate, lovely and energetic. I strongly recommend he is the first person to go with if you want to visit the Top End region. The trip allowed me as an international person from China who has been living in Melbourne in the past 7 years to explore the outback culture of Australia, which is quite distinctive from the East Coast. This is an amazing trip to see the Top End (The northern part of the Northern Territory) landscapes and cultures of Australia. The region has an robust, free, and tranquil mood. We went through different national parks and swim in diverse waterholes, which was my first time to swim in the wild. It feels amazing to swim in rocky lakes and ponds with transparent water and fish. The landscape is composed of rivers, swamps, Savannah woodland, monsoon forests, rocky outcrops, waterholes and termite mounds. We saw wild buffaloes, saltwater crocodiles, wallabies and many birds. The trip also feels very cultural: we went to see many rock arts as well as visited many aboriginal art galleries, and I bought my first Didgeridoo at Top End Digi Art Gallery. Leigh gave them a phone call and they opened 1 hour after the conventional opening hours to do me a favor, which is so lovely. For anybody going after a digi, I would recommend mail it to your place instead of carry it with airplane: the domestic postage cost 100$, while airline Qantas which I took need to charge 130$ to handle the digi as an oversize package. This is also the first time I had an Australian damper made in a camp fire, Yum!

Fun and adventure in the Top End - We really enjoyed our adventure with Rachel and the camaraderie with the other travellers. Rachel was knowledgeable of the destinations; impressed us with her driving skills and took into account the types of guests she had on her trip and their abilities with some of the activities. We trekked; rock scrambled; swam in waterfalls and rockpools; cruises and spotted crocodiles. Little stops like Pine Creek added to the memories. We ate quite well for camping and stopped for picnic lunches. The accommodation was comfortable and clean (we chose the tents). Spending time around the campfire and seeing the stars at night was spectacular! The only disappointment was that it was the dry season and there were a few clouds when we went swimming one day (LOL!!)

Fantastic sights and never a dull moment! - Kakadu is an amazing place to visit! The scenery us beautiful. But what really made the trip for me was our tour guide Elliott. He was super informative on many different topics , wildlife, history, daily life in the top end. If you have any interest in bush tucker or the cultural information of the area then this tour is for you, I learnt so much! There is something for everyone. Camps are comfortable and the food is tasty. There was never a dull moment but still plenty of time for your own space. Thanks Elliott for the fantastic trip. Would 100% recommend and would definitely go on another tour in the future.

Autopia 5 day camping experience Kakadu,Katherine Gorge and Litchfield - Daryl the driver/tour guide excellent, couldn’t do enough to support not so well client. His knowledge of culture and wildlife pretty good and would highlight when he didn’t know something as well as having extremely keen eyes to spot wildlife. Campsites basic but adequate, where Daryl would lead the cooking and a was a reasonable cook at that. Food plentiful, though limited choice offered initially, Daryl always able to provide an acceptable alternative eg. Non fish eater, offered ham. What was surprising was the obvious lack of maintenance to the 4 wheel drive vehicle, the 3 securing screws of the lock for the rear passenger door, were missing from the start. This meant the lock was NOT secure. Also the handle spindle kept falling out partially and completely, in either case, Daryl was unable to open the door from the outside, though it operated fine from the inside. Additionally, the initial microphone/headset was so Intermittent that you couldn’t hear much of what Daryl was saying. Fortunately at the 1st night campsite stop, Daryl was able to get another headset from another Autopia tour guide, also at the site. For me and my wife, the tour could have done with a bit more emphasis on the wildlife, but that said, it was a good tour all the same.

Snapshot of the beautiful top end - Really enjoyed this small group tour. 10 was the perfect number to travel with. Elliott - " the outback guide" showed and shared his passion and knowledge of the Territory. His indigenous knowledge about the bush included food, medicine and rock art. We had busy days seeing many different sights and got to swim in some beautiful waterholes . The campsites were comfortable. The nights included some wonderful camp-fires and amazing sunsets. The tour show cased some of the best of the top end. Would definitely recommend this tour .
