• Frankland Islands - Travelers booking the Express Day Tour can depart from Cairns or drive themselves to Deeral, leaving around 10:15 am and returning at approximately 2:30 pm. The adventure starts with a cruise down the Mulgrave River on the Wantaim vessel, where passengers can observe wildlife along the mangrove-lined banks, including crocodiles. From the river’s mouth, the tour proceeds about ten kilometers to Normanby Island in the Frankland Islands. Upon arrival, guests can snorkel directly from the beach with provided equipment, exploring coral gardens and marine life under the guidance of experienced guides. They can also opt for a guided snorkeling tour or a semi-submarine reef tour, both offering an in-depth view of the reef ecosystem. Complimentary use of kayaks and stand-up paddleboards is available, allowing guests to explore the surrounding waters at their own pace. Visitors can relax on the beach, swim, or enjoy an optional packed picnic lunch, with vegetarian and vegan options offered.

They’re often considered unique to Okinawa, Japan, but it’s our hidden delight that you can also discover them in a secluded spot on Normanby Island.
