Worthwhile! - A very comprehensive and informative exhibit of Vermeer’s life and career. The lower floor contains reproductions of all of his works in chronological order and in their original size, each labeled with their current location. There are additional displays which provide helpful background about the city of Delft, the art scene, and the role of guilds during Vermeer’s time. The other floors feature his technique, use of light, and recurrent themes in his paintings. The free audioguide and videos are excellent. If you appreciate Vermeer’s work or want to learn more about him this is a worthwhile visit.

A glimpse into the life of Vermeer - Very rewarding. There are copies of his work with very clear descriptions of how he painted it and why. Let's take a look inside his head. Instructive. A glimpse into his life.

Highlight of my trip to the Netherlands!! - Amazing free tour (they offer it in English!) and such an in-depth explanation of each of Vermeer's work! This place is run by the most genuine and passionate people who truly know their material inside out. My family was spellbound by the tour and the town itself and I cannot recommend it enough! This was truly the highlight of my trip to the Netherlands!

Interesting museum in Delft - With the German-language audio guide, a visit here will be really interesting. You not only learn a lot about the artist but also about the era. An hour and a half should be scheduled, that as a guide. There is also a free wardrobe and also a nice museum shop.

Like a pilgrimage: utterly rewarding every step! - What priceless hours of delightful discovery! I was like a child in a toy store, aiming my free audio guide device at numbered “podcatchers” on the walls, totally captivated by this museum’s presentation of Vermeer as both keen observer of light AND emotion, each piece literally a story I learned to read thanks to these excellent exhibits. Discovering “Black Girl with Pearl” by Jenny Boot was also powerful. Thank you, Delft!

Extremely interesting and instructive - Beautiful visit, although there are no paintings of the painter there are reproductions of all his works, the map of where you can see them and very interesting all the explanation that is given regarding the use of light by Veermer. Also interesting is the video in which they show how the restorations of the works are carried out, certainly a stop not to be missed as a completeness of a cultural tour.

Explanations of the paintings, the sophisticated use of light - If you want to see pictures of the famous Dutch painters, you are wrong here! Here are explanations of the paintings by Vermeer, but I had obtained them in advance by means of (used) illustrated Vermeer book from Taschen Verlag. What was still interesting for me: the then well-known technique of the camera obscura, precursor of today's photo camera and the sophisticated use of light, also demonstrated in light chambers. With Rembrandt with his light-dark painting, there is no such use of light.

Great small museum - Terrific small museum which gave great insight into his painting process, subject matter, symbolism in his works. We spent about an hour and a half there, visiting all three floors

Profanisation of fine art - This is such a disgrace for people with true sentiment for art. If you a true fan of Vermeer, please skip this! This is not only a total waste of money and time (we left quickly) but an emotional wound! We have seen all of Vermeer's works in Amsterdam several years ago and it really hurt to pay for cheap and bad quality reproductions.Thank you but NO THANK YOU.

I disgrace to art - Hoping to see a few of Vermeer's paintings, famous for the incredible light that seems to shine from them, we were bitterly disappointed. The whole so called "museum" is filled with cheap reproductions (photos of the paintings) and other works inspired by Vermeer's. This is a disgrace, no one who has even a small affinity to the world of art would do such a thing, exploiting the image of a great master to rip tourists off. Save yourselves the 15€ ticket and buy yourself a book about the artist, I assure you the photos in it will be a better way to learn about him. Photos of paintings are NOT art.
