An interesting trip into the past! - We could spend a wonderful day. Pick-up was punctually 7:45 am at the hotel. The journey was in an air-conditioned spacious coach. Guests from different countries were represented. During the trip, we received a lot of interesting information from our guide with background and stories about the destinations approached. The tour accompaniment was in easy-to-understand English. On request, however, we also received explanations in German, which our guide has mastered perfectly. After a short stop at a rest stop, the boat tour followed to the partially sunken town of Dolichiste on the uninhabited island of Kekova. Afterwards there was the possibility to swim in a small bay in the sea. We continued by bus to a shop in Demre (formerly Myra) where we could look at and buy gold jewellery. For lunch we could eat something in a quick-service restaurant. It was possible to choose between 5 dishes. I think there was something for everyone. The food was included in the price. The drinks were extra to pay. Afterwards, a short drive to the church (museum) where St. Nicholas worked. There was the possibility of a viewing. However, we did not make these, because the admission for the available time (about 45 minutes) seemed too expensive for us at 17 EUR per person. For this purpose, tickets were already offered by our guide during the boat trip. It was also the only station that had to be paid extra. Finally, the trip ended with a visit to the Lycian rock tombs and the Roman amphitheatre in the neighborhood. On the way home, the group was divided into 2 buses, which made the number of hotels to reach manageable and we were back at our accommodation in Göynük at about 17:30 in time for dinner. We can fully recommend the excursion to participants who have basic knowledge of English (school English). The organization was perfect and there was always contact to Kemer Tours via whatsapp.
