A must visit - Grand Cabana - It was wonderful! We were very happy with the Grand Cabana & felt that it accommodated the 11 of us very comfortably. Our butler was prompt with the delivery of our food and drinks. There are a few minor things that could improve, a small bin to dispose of rubbish throughout the day and to protect the beach, there were some small Pieces of rubbish around so to keep the island in pristine condition a small bin would be good & would help the guests keep their area tidy creating less work for butlers but will also prevent pollution for Fiji’s marine life. A small enclosed area for guests to change into swimwear with a bucket of water to wash sand off shoes and feet would also elevate the guests experience.

Fun cruisey day out - We did the half day and found that was plenty of time for the activities on offer and relaxing in the pool. The boat trip is nice and goes quickly. The facilities are good and everything seems new and clean. If you like snorkelling go out further to see better coral and fish, closer to shore it’s a bit bleached and shallow although there is still heaps of fish.

Good tour - Good day out and nice and relaxing to set yourself up on the beach for the day. We did find it hard arriving on the afternoon boat, to find a beach chair or bed - not enough for the amount of people they sell tickets to. Highlight was the snorkelling, very colourful coral and lots of fish!

Half Day @ Malala - This place is great, the views, activities, food, drinks and staff make it a must do. definitely only do the half day trip, I think a full day might be too long.

Definitely worth it! - We needed to kill a day before a PM flight so I booked the half day pass. It was a cloudy windy day and it was STILL worth it! The snorkeling is amazing! The paddleboards and kayaks were closed due to wind, but we could snorkel and use the pool, so the kids were happy. The food and drinks were delicious as well! We def will be back if we visit Fiji for a longer length of time.

Thanks Coconut Joe and Fufu - memories locked in - What a great way to spend half a day in Fiji. Malamala had so much to offer and we did it in simple style. After collecting our towels and resort tab card from the Hub we found some super shady trees and lounges near the jetty and made ourselves comfortable. Out of nowhere an attendant appeared with a huge smile and an even bigger personality. He introduced himself as Coconut Joe - we called him CJ- and he really looked after us for our stay there. Coconut water, non-alcoholic cocktails and a Fiji bitter almost magically appeared after our chat with CJ. During the afternoon his friendly and effusive presence only added to our wonderful experience on the island. Equally so was FuFu (the water equipment spot) who looked after us three with her keen and engaging sense of humour and quick wit. Fufu ensured that we did all the safety waiver stuff in a professional and concise manner then helped us with our kayaks and snorkeling gear - even forgiving (with much hilarity) your authors attempt to get into the kayak backwards before tumbling into the water. Fufu really added to our huge fun on the day with her advice on best places to snorkel and hints on kayaking. We did not go beyond the beach to the eateries and the bars but we did have a simply fantastic day at Malamala thanks to the obviously well trained and involved attendance of CJ and Fufu. Keep an eye out for them when you visit- they made this particular Fiji experience a most memorable one.

A million miles away - We loved our half-day trip to Malamala. It's only a 25-minute boat trip from Port Denarau but you feel a million miles away. The water is crystal clear.

With kids please avoid this place. - 1. My bus missed for picking from hotel, I was at reception assuming they will come and let us know because that's how it is been from other travel. 2. After we reached with 2 young kids no spot for bed or even the sit out, staff asked me to go sit below the trees with no chairs as well. 3.complained to the manager saying give us refund back and arrange for us to go back to denarav , then they asked staff to get an chair 4. Then we ordered the food, took more than 30min to get food with kids waiting, again had to raise with staff to get it. 5. 5.15 the boat was supposed to leave from malamala, 5.40 it left again late 6. In terms of activity noting , u got only three pool thing which u can do with kids, they had no activity at all when I compared with beachcombor island.
