Inspiring and informative - Detroit has so many gems of architecture. It is great to be able to find interior spaces to experience many different styles. My favorite was the Guardian Building with the Aztec themed Art Deco styling.

Our tour guide Dildora... - Our tour guide Dildora was amazing! She had an in-depth knowledge of the history of Detroit, architecture and surroundings. We visited different buildings and often gathered in a lobby area where we could easily listen to all she shared.

Fascinating Tour of Detroit - This is a wonderful tour of Detroit. It highlights a lot of architecture but also covers plenty of history...and the history of Detroit is fascinating! The tour guide speaks six languages and is clearly invested in sharing the best of her city. She also confirmed with me twice in advance and let me know how to find her, which I appreciated as a solo traveler.

Whether a Local or Visiting - Do This! - You must take this walking tour. Even if you are a local, you will never see the architecture, or get the backstory, the way you will on this tour. Ask for Mike as your guide. He personally lived Detroit's fall from grace and against all odds rise to it's current glory. More to come from this city clearly on the UP! Lots of impressive architecture, history, and cool street art.

Wonderful time with... - Wonderful time with Michael, our knowledgeable and friendly guide. Small hiccup in scheduling, but otherwise perfect. Glad to have found this tour when all other Detroit tour groups had cut back for the season.

Detroit Urban Renewal 101! - We met up with Dildora on 23 September and she took my husband and me on the walking tour. We had such a good time and learned so much! I have never been to Detroit before and had no idea of the rebirth of the downtown. She explained that really it was about great business leaders AND great vision and leadership. As she pointed out various buildings which had been abandoned but reborn and repurposed, we were just so impressed by what has been done and what is still planned to be done. I love the fact that she has cultivated relationships with numerous businesses and they allow her to bring in her tours to show them original architecture, ceilings, windows, artwork and hardware right alongside renovation work. On another note, I mentioned to her that I didn’t see many homeless people outside, and she told us that the city is also repurposing some buildings for safe shelter for homeless people or families and that is also impressive. Dildora has quite a wealth of knowledge about Detroit and I believe the city has a very bright future that pays homage to older architecture.

Interesting hidden treasures - The walking is very modest, the chosen sites are indeed hidden treasures. Hearing a little about Detroit history was informative, and could be expanded.
