Prince Muhammad Azam, son of Emperor Aurangzeb, initiated its construction while serving as the Viceroy of Bengal. Built in the 17th century, dated 1678, its main attractions include the Tomb of Pari Bibi, Lalbagh Mosque, Audience Hall, and Hammam Khana (bathing place) of Nawab Shaista Khan. Lalbagh Fort is open from Tuesday to Saturday, with Sunday and Monday as off days.
Dhakeshwari Temple - Enjoy a visit to Dhakeshwari Temple, the National Hindu Temple of Bangladesh. Dhakeshwari National Temple is a Hindu temple in Dhaka city, state-owned, and recognized as Bangladesh’s ‘National Temple’. The name “Dhakeshwari” means “Goddess of Dhaka”. Since the destruction of Ramna Kali Mandir in 1971 by the Pakistan Army during the Bangladesh Liberation War, Dhakeshwari Temple has become the most important Hindu place of worship in Bangladesh.

Curzon Hall - The movement to make Bengali an official language began in this magnificent university hall. In 1948, when Pakistan and Bangladesh were one country, the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan selected Urdu and English as its official languages. This decision, made within the walls of this impressive Bangladesh university building, sparked the Bengali Language Movement, advocating for Bengali as an official language.

Goaldi Mosque - Next, visit Goaldi Mosque, one of the few surviving medieval monuments in Sonargaon. Built in 1519, the elegant, single-domed Goaldi Mosque is the most remarkable of the few remaining monuments of the old capital city and an excellent example of pre-Mughal architecture.
Panam Nagar - Afterwards, explore Panam Nagar, a unique township stretching along a single street, averaging 5 meters in width and 600 meters in length. The buildings, characterized by urban street-front houses, line both sides of this street, ending at the Panam Bazar. Fifty-two houses remain in a dilapidated and unused state, with 31 on the north side of the street and 21 on the south.
Sonargaon Folk Art and Craft Museum - Visit the Folk Art Museum, or Folk Art and Crafts Museum, located on a picturesque fifty-hectare piece of land featuring breathtaking landscapes, serene artificial lakes and ponds, and the structures that comprise the Folk Art Museum complex (closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays).
