- Boro Sardar Bari / বড় সর্দার বাড়ি - Boro Sardar Bari in Sonargaon is a historic mansion built in 1901 by the affluent Sardar merchant family. Renowned for its elegant Indo-European architectural style, the building boasts grand columns, arched windows, and intricate designs. Once a symbol of prosperity, it now forms part of the Sonargaon Folk Arts and Crafts Museum, highlighting Bengal’s rich cultural and artistic heritage. It stands as one of Sonargaon’s most notable attractions, reflecting the grandeur of the region’s past.
- Sonargaon Folk Art and Craft Museum - The tour will proceed to the Main Building (Prasad), formerly King Isa Kha’s palace, now serving as the Folk Art and Craft Museum. The newly constructed folk art building will also be explored. The entire campus will be toured to discover the ancient capital of Bengal.
- Panam Nagar - The visit continues to Panam City, established in 1500 A.D. Wealthy Hindu Lords conducted their business here and created a city with all necessary facilities. The area is divided by a single road lined with colonial-style buildings. These artistic structures will transport visitors to ancient Bangla.
1:30 pm – 2:00 pm: Lunch will be enjoyed at a nearby restaurant, featuring local cuisine that may be a bit spicy and hot. Please inform us of any special dietary needs upon booking.
2:00 pm – 2:30 pm: A brief rest will be taken under a greenwood tree, allowing for some leisurely conversation.
- Meghna Bridge - The tour will proceed to the Meghna River for a boat ride. Meghna is one of Bangladesh’s three major rivers, and Sonargaon is located on its banks.
