Some emotions can't be told... - Yes. Certain emotions cannot be told but only experienced. And this experience gave me indescribable and unforgettable emotions. Our choice was the “magic night in the desert” option of Alpitour/Franco Rosso with accommodation at the Fanar in Salalah. We left the resort in the early afternoon, visited the valley of incense and the lost city of Ubar, arrived at the tented camp “Magic Camp” at 5pm. We settled in the tents assigned to us (to us the n. 13!!) then we climbed, barefoot, along a long wooden staircase that took us to the dunes... we walked a little more, then who lay down on the hot sand, who sat down, who stood... all wrapped in silence, in absolute peace, overwhelmed by gusts of wind and sand, to admire the spectacle of the setting of the sun. Then we went down, typical dinner sitting on colorful pillows, the stories of the guide "Amedeo" around the bonfire, under an incredible starry sky. Then everyone to sleep. Wake up at 5 o'clock, breakfast, and everyone in line with batteries to reach the dunes from where we would watch the sun rise. As we progressed, the sky took on all the colours of dawn, and the sand changed colour before our eyes. When we arrived, we sat down, the wind kicked up the sand, but the show in front of us left us speechless. We remained silent, endless photos to capture every moment. Then we went down to the camp for breakfast.. and finally we returned to the resort. Unforgettable experience!

Do not miss it!!! - A really nice experience, they picked us up from the hotel to go see the sunset in the dunes, passing by the expanse of incense trees and an archaeological site. The sunset in the dunes is truly magical, to see absolutely. We then went to a Bedouin camp, had dinner eating very well and near the fire we smoked the "Sciscia"... Wake up at dawn to enjoy another show and breakfast. Mohamed Ali was a great guide, thank you again for this experience ❤️

But the desert makes you want more... - I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get a taste of the desert. As the journey (from Salalah) is around 200km, we decided to take the overnight tour and spend the night in a tent on the edge of the desert. The food in the camp was excellent and probably beats anything the hotel can offer. The tents are simple with a bed, sanitary facilities are centrally located on the property.

We would do it again! - Even the journey was an impressive experience. There are green meadows in the middle of the desert, mountains like pyramids and eternally long straights. The ride in the dunes and the sunset very special. Wonderful food and excellent beds in the Bedouin tent complete this day perfectly. Breakfast and the return journey is additional enjoyment.

Great experience in tented camp with Beautiful Salalah and Ali. - Great experience with Beautiful Salalah Tours and our Ali guide. Ali was extremely helpful and professional. With his sympathy and spontaneity he guided us to discover the Rub Al Kahli and its spectacular dunes. The tented camp is very basic, but ideal for enjoying the peace of a night in the desert and allows you to fully enjoy the starry sky away from the chaos.

Amazing experience - Abo Salim has been a very kind, generous and thoughtful guide. He was always willing to help and answer any question. With him we have seen black camels, beautiful dunes, frankincense trees and infinite stars before going to sleep. We had one of the best dinners of the trip at the camp and we slept well in the tent. We would definitely recommend this tour to families, couples or anyone really.

Unforgettable sun set and sun rise in the sand dunes. - A very memorable overnight trip into Rub Al Khali with interesting stop-overs in Ubar and Wadi Dawkah on the way there. We also stopped at a camel farm which is interesting if you have not seen camels elsewhere. Our guide Ibrahim was very friendly and did an excellent job in finding quiet places on the sand dunes to enjoy an unforgettable sun set and sun rise the next morning. He also provided us with a lot of information on the way of life in Oman which helped us to better understanding the country and its people.
