Setting Sail to Wasini Island

The sun was just beginning to rise over Diani Beach as I embarked on a journey that promised both adventure and tranquility. After our aquatic adventures, we docked at Wasini Island for a sumptuous seafood lunch. The flavors were a testament to the rich culinary traditions of the region, and the meal was a perfect way to recharge. Post-lunch, we had the option to explore the local village, an opportunity I eagerly embraced. The village visit was not only enlightening but also heartwarming, as we had the chance to contribute to the community by purchasing and donating school supplies.

The tour concluded with a visit to the historic slave caves, a poignant reminder of the island’s past. The extensive nature of the tour, from marine exploration to cultural insights, was truly impressive. As we sailed back to Diani Beach, I reflected on the day’s experiences, grateful for the chance to engage with both the natural and cultural heritage of Kenya’s south coast. This tour was more than just a day trip; it was a journey into the heart of a vibrant ecosystem and community.
