A Truly Memorable Day in Shangri-La! - We visited Songzanlin Monastery, often called the “Little Potala Palace,” and honestly, it lived up to the name. In my opinion, it’s just as impressive as the Potala Palace itself. Built along the mountainside, the entire complex looks incredibly grand, and under the sunlight, the golden rooftops almost glow with a sacred light. In the afternoon, we headed to Pudacuo National Park, which offered a completely different kind of beauty. In winter, it turns into a peaceful snow-covered forest. The floating ice crystals on Shudu Lake made it look like a sparkling sea of diamonds. Our guide mentioned that black-necked cranes can sometimes be seen here in winter—although we didn’t spot any this time, we did come across some adorable squirrels along the boardwalk. They were surprisingly interactive and honestly made the experience even more special. The entire trip was extremely well-organized and comfortable. The driver was very skilled—even with all the mountain roads, I didn’t feel carsick at all. The guide was professional and thoughtful, taking care of every detail along the way. I would definitely choose this team again the next time I visit Yunnan!
