• Shangri-La County - Guests will be collected from their hotel in Shangri-La and driven to Deqin. En route, they can admire the expansive Napa Grasslands from a distance before journeying through the awe-inspiring Jinsha Grand Canyon. A stop at Benzilan, a delightful town on the historic Tea Horse Road, provides insight into its rich heritage. Visitors should not miss the Dong Zhu Lin Monastery (East Forest Monastery), a century-old site rich in culture and serenity. Upon reaching Deqin, weather permitting, guests will enjoy a breathtaking sunset view of the magnificent Meili Snow Mountain—a perfect conclusion to the day.
• Yubeng Village - Begin the day early with a stunning sunrise view of Meili Snow Mountain (weather permitting). After breakfast, guests will be transferred to Ninong to start the day’s adventure (15 kilometers, approximately 6 hours hike). This tour leads through the beautiful Ninong Canyon and into the heart of a primeval forest, following the winding path alongside the Lancang River. As they traverse this untouched wilderness, they will arrive at the peaceful Yubeng Village, nestled at the base of Meili Snow Mountain. Known as a miniature Shangri-La, Yubeng offers a perfect escape into nature, with its serene landscapes and unspoiled beauty.
• Yubeng Village - After breakfast, prepare for a challenging day to Ice Lake, approximately 14 kilometers, with various rest stops and scenic viewpoints along the way. Ideal for visitors with good physical stamina, this trail traverses diverse terrains, from gentle slopes to more demanding, steep sections. The journey culminates at the Ice Lake viewpoint, where guests will be rewarded with breathtaking views of Meili Snow Mountain, especially the majestic Kawagebo Peak. Throughout the hike, they will experience the raw beauty and artistry of nature, making this a must-do route for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike.
• Yubeng Waterfall - This day leads deep into a picturesque valley that ends in a dead end, requiring retracing the same path. Starting from Yubeng, follow the signs for an uphill trek to the Sacred Waterfall, a journey of about 4 hours, reaching an elevation of 3650 meters. The waterfall, fed by the melting snow from Meili Snow Mountain, is a captivating sight. In spring and summer, the increased flow from the snowmelt enhances the waterfall’s magnificence and power, while in other seasons, it cascades gently down the mountainside. Revered as a sacred site by Tibetans, the waterfall is a place for spiritual cleansing—many visit to bathe under its waters to purify their souls. According to Tibetan tradition, walking around the waterfall three times in a clockwise direction is believed to bring blessings and good fortune. After absorbing the serene beauty and spiritual energy of the site, guests will return to Yubeng Village to complete the hike.
• Yubeng Village - Compared to previous days, today’s trek is easier. The path follows a gentle downhill route, offering views of canyons, rivers, and meadows, and passes through the primitive forest along the way. Finally, guests arrive at Ninong Village via Ninong Grand Canyon, completing their Yubeng Trekking. Afterward, they will drive back to Shangri-La, concluding their trip in Shangri-La.
