A Scenic Journey to the Coast

Our family adventure to Essaouira began with a scenic drive from Marrakech, a journey that was as much a part of the experience as the destination itself. As we left the bustling city behind, the landscape transformed into a tapestry of Moroccan plains and quaint small towns. We stopped for lunch at a charming café, La Rose du Sud, nestled in a picturesque square. The fresh grilled fish was a hit with everyone, and the prices were refreshingly reasonable. It was a joy to sit back and enjoy a leisurely meal, soaking in the ambiance of this historic city. After lunch, we visited a local cooperative, Feminine Argan Haha, where we purchased some lovely argan oil creams. The cooperative’s prices were much more reasonable than the touristy shops, and it was a great way to support local artisans.

Relaxing by the Ocean

No trip to Essaouira would be complete without a visit to its sandy beach, just outside the old city walls. The kids couldn’t wait to kick off their shoes and feel the sand between their toes. The beach was a perfect place to unwind, with the gentle sound of the waves providing a soothing soundtrack to our afternoon.

As the day came to a close, our guide Hamza ensured that each of us was comfortably returned to our preferred drop-off point. His friendly demeanor and multilingual skills made the journey even more enjoyable, as he shared fascinating insights about the places we visited.
