• Discovery Bay - Discovery Bay is home to Columbus Park. Originally named Puerto Seco or “Dry Harbour” by Christopher Columbus in 1494, it was so called because Columbus and his crew initially couldn’t find fresh water. They eventually discovered fresh water about 5 miles west, naming that spot Rio Bueno, or “Good River.” In 1947, Puerto Seco was renamed Discovery Bay, marking the location where Columbus and the Spanish landed on May 4, 1494. The park, currently closed for renovations, showcases various historical relics and artifacts. Visitors can enjoy a brief stop to capture photos and appreciate the rich history of this significant town.
• Runaway Bay - This tour takes you through Runaway Bay, one of the island’s most popular towns. Known for its natural beauty, Runaway Bay is nestled between a stunning coastline and lush green mountains. The origin of its name is debated; some believe it was named after the last group of Spanish soldiers who fled from British troops led by Governor Ysassi after the 1655 British invasion, while others suggest it was an escape route for slaves heading to Cuba. Be sure to have your camera ready as you explore this picturesque area.
• Dunn’s River Falls and Park - Experience the world-famous Dunn’s River Falls with your tour guide. Arrive in your swimsuits, meet your resident guide, complete the briefing, sign the waiver, and prepare for fun. The guide will lead you to the beach where the tour begins. The climb from the beach to the top is about 600 feet (183 meters), with pools along the way for photo opportunities. If you can’t complete the climb, there are exit points available. This living and growing phenomenon regenerates from travertine rock deposits, formed by calcium carbonate precipitation from the river. Its unique location near the sea makes it one-of-a-kind in the Caribbean, if not the world. The visit to Dunn’s River Falls lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Feel free to ask your guide to point out areas featured in the James Bond movie “Doctor No.”
• Ocho Rios - Known as the heartbeat of St. Ann’s garden parish, Ocho Rios is a paradise for nature lovers. Once thought to be watered by eight rivers, Ocho Rios offers a lush landscape of caves, gardens, rivers, and white sand beaches. The name Ocho Rios comes from “Las Choreras,” meaning “waterfalls,” reflecting the area’s many waterfalls. From Fern Gully to the tiered waterfalls of Dunn’s River, Blue Hole, and Secret Falls, Ocho Rios attracts thousands of visitors to its romantic, picturesque resort area.

Ocho Rios is a charming colonial-style town with a population of about 25,000. Known as “The Centerpiece of Jamaica,” it offers activities ranging from golf and watersports to equestrian and soft adventure activities. Conveniently located between Kingston and Montego Bay, it provides excellent access from both international airports. As the birthplace of Bob Marley and Marcus Garvey, Ocho Rios offers rich cultural experiences, including Marley’s mausoleum at Nine Miles, Reggae Xplosion, and Seville Heritage Park, which chronicle Jamaica’s history through story and song.

There will be a short stop in the town center (approximately 1 hour) for shopping.

• Main Street - Shopping in Ocho Rios during this day trip will be at the Ocho Rios Craft Market or a similar location. A wide variety of items are available, including rums, coffee, T-shirts, hats, jewelry, wood carvings, and arts. It’s advisable to carry small bills, as not all vendors accept credit cards, and they may not have change in USD, resulting in receiving a lot of Jamaican dollars as change.
• Scotchies Drax Hall - Scotchies Outdoor Garden Restaurant is renowned for offering the best jerk chicken and pork. It’s recommended to conclude your day’s activities with a visit to Scotchies for the ultimate jerk experience. The food is prepared with the whole family in mind, so even children can enjoy the tender, juicy pork and succulent chicken with festival. Steamed vegetables are available for non-meat eaters. Don’t miss the chance to try the homemade Scotchies specialty hot sauce made from locally sun-ripened Scotch Bonnet Peppers.
