This network of over 200 km of tunnels became legendary during the 1960’s when they played a vital part in the American War, allowing the Viet Cong to control a large rural area close to Ho Chi Minh City. In their heyday, the tunnels were functioning underground cities.

Great to experience the Chu Chi Tunnels - The tour had a comfort air condition bus with a good English speaking guide. Clear and interesting descriptions of the amazing displays with a nice twist of humour. Very efficient getting through the displays. Nice Bah min buns on the way back to Ho Chi Minh. Would have like to have 5 extra minutes at each point though understand there are many tours that pass through this amazing museum.

Definitely worth a look - Great experience to actually see and understand how the Vietnamese people lived and fought (so well) during the war.
The tour group I went with was Intrepid, and Thanh our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
I didn’t plan to go into the tunnels themselves, and wondered whether this would mean the tour wouldn’t be as good - but there was so much to see and learn about that I didn’t feel I missed out when the others went down into the tunnels properly.
Highly recommend- but do prepare yourself for swarms of tourists and high humidity!

Cu Chi Tunnels - Great tour with a lot of interesting information about the Cu Chi tunnels. Going through the tunnels is optional and only a small part of the tour. Thanh, our tour guide was very helpful and knowledgeable!
