The Củ Chi tunnels form an extensive network of interconnected tunnels situated in the Củ Chi District of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam. They are part of a larger tunnel system that extends throughout much of the country. During the Vietnam War, the Củ Chi tunnels were the site of numerous military operations and served as the Viet Cong’s operational base for the Tết Offensive in 1968.

These tunnels provided Viet Cong soldiers with hiding places during battles and functioned as communication and supply routes, hospitals, storage for food and weapons, and living quarters for many North Vietnamese fighters.
