This artificial island, conceived in the mid-15th century, was meticulously constructed by the spirited residents of Perast, a charming coastal village. These individuals, primarily military sailors under the rule of the Venetian Republic, were not only adept in warfare but deeply rooted in their religious beliefs and cultural traditions.

Within the church’s walls lies a treasure trove of culture and history, beautifully adorned with oil paintings by Tripo Kokolja, a master of the local arts. The church also houses an extensive collection of silver ex-voto gifts, each piece narrating tales of danger, prayer, and providence.

• Mamula Island - In Venetian times, the island was known as Rondina. Today, a fort occupies nearly all of its surface. Lazarus von Mamula, an Austro-Hungarian general, constructed it in 1853, along with two other fortifications at Prevlaka’s Cape Oštro and Luštica’s Cape Arza, to help deter enemies from entering Kotor Bay.

During World War II, however, the Mamula fort became a concentration camp. Today, the Montenegrin government has approved transforming the site into a luxurious beach resort through a lease agreement with Orascom Development Holding AG. Since the island is now private property, it is not possible to stop on the island itself.

• Kotor - VERY IMPORTANT: The tour time has been adjusted to align with the new speed limitations expected to be implemented this season. This trip was previously completed in 3 hours (with the same stop time at each highlight).

Until this new law is adopted, there is a CHOICE: either take this one or the 3-hour version with 1 extra hour to further customize the experience. This can be done by spending more time at any of the included locations or making an additional stop somewhere along the route.

• Pickup is not possible at every pier. We will advise you what are the safe options near you.
• Our Lady of the Rocks Church has variable working hours during the year. Check with us, if you want to go inside.
• The remaining hours are allotted for the travel time.
• If you have specific requests (longer swimming time, preferred photo spots, a quiet ride), just let your skipper know—this is your private experience!
• The tour is subject to weather and sea conditions. If safety is ever a concern, we’ll reschedule or offer a full refund.
