Lovely sightseeing cruise on the Loch - Lovely location/buildings with a great cafe/restaurant that seems to attract many more people than go on the cruises. Cruise itself was lovely with great staff

Great two hour cruise on Loch Ness - An excellent morning trip with Jacobite Cruises. Especially s we only booked on-line the day before. We arrive quite early for our cruise, even then there was quite a que as a couple of tour buses had arrived. There is a good restaurant on the site at Dochgarroch and snacks and coffee are available as you wait. Once the boarding commenced it was very quick. There are some great staff here to help you. It was a fine calm morning so we took our seat on the upper deck. It was a great two hour round trip to Urquart Castle and back, starting at Dochgarroch Lock on the Caledonian Canal. Travelling down a short distance on the canal before opening up into Loch Ness itself. There are stunning views of the Great Glen, highlands and Aldourie Castle. Then the highlight is the approach to Urquart Castle standing on the shore of the loch. The crew on board are friendly and the commentary by the captain is both informative and witty at times, he had a subtle sense of humor and not all his jokes got the deserved laughter form some of the passengers. Especially like the "dad" jokes!!! Joking aside there was a great deal of information on the history of Loch Ness and the castles. As well as the mystery of the monster, you’ll learn the fascinating story of Loch Ness. At Urquart Castle we discharged most of the passengers and then set off back to Dochgarroch. If there was one slight disappointment it was that we didn't spend some time with views of Urquart Castle. The pervious day when at the castle we saw the same vessel do a number of figure of eights offshore, obviously for everyone to get a good view of the castle. Sadly on our trip we just docked for passengers to get off and on. On our return we had lunch at the restaurant and spent sometime with the Highland Cows near the car park. An excellent way to finish off our morning. Definitely recommend this cruise if you are in the Inverness area it's a great way to see the Great Glen, Loch Ness and castles along it's shore. Since December TripAdvisor has not been adding my contributions so I'm now doing it myself. This Review takes it to 12392. Thank you for reading.

Above and beyond! - The experience we had on this cruise as a family, created the best experience of our holiday. The cherished memory our son's will have for years from now will outweigh the cheap price we paid for the tickets. Peter was an excellent tour guide who went above and beyond. Not only did he entertain the passengers with his humour and excellent knowledge but also took time to make sure our son had a great birthday experience. Even spotted the famous Nessie monster of Loch Ness (thanks Peter. 😂😂) The skipper answered lots of questions for him and even allowed him to "steer" the ship 😂😂 A surprise drive by from the RNLI even added to this amazing experience who were so close to the boat that they could shout happy birthday to him! ( I'm aware that's not part of the cruise so please don't expect it lol😂😂😂) Seriously five stars all round!

Great but guide was interrupted repeatedly - This experience was fantastic overall, and our guide on 13/1/26 (Kieran I believe) was doing an excellent job providing engaging and informative commentary throughout the trip. However, during the tour there appeared to be repeated microphone issues, which the guide apologised for and explained were unusual. While this initially seemed like a technical fault, my husband and I noticed another staff member laughing and filming at the exact moments the microphone cut out again, which made the situation feel uncomfortable as guests. This led us to wonder whether the issue may not have been purely technical, and it detracted slightly from what was otherwise a very professional and enjoyable experience. I don’t usually leave comments like this, but the guide was clearly putting in a lot of effort, and it would be a shame if someone doing their job well was made the subject of a joke or disruption. I hope this is something that can be looked into so it doesn’t happen again
