Skye Explorer Tour+Murdoch= Awesome - From start to finish, this tour exceeded expectations. Murdoch’s exceptional storytelling and deep knowledge of Scottish culture made every moment memorable. He kept the group entertained throughout the full-day journey while weaving in history and humor effortlessly. The prearranged lunch from Lisa on Skye was a thoughtful touch — delicious and convenient. A masterfully organized experience led by a truly gifted guide.

Perfect Day of Guided Hiking! - This was by far the highlight of our trip to Scotland this fall! We did the Skye Explorer Hiking Day Tour with Murdoch. He was an exceptionally knowledgeable and funny guide with amazing stories to share throughout the journey. We enjoyed that the tour offered varying skill level hikes at each location. Our delicious lunch from Isle of Skye Baking Company was a bonus!

Magical day of hiking. - Just book this tour! One of the highlights of my trip. Our guide told us history and stories almost the entire tour. We went to places off the beaten path and got to see some of the main attractions. It was a long day, but there was the perfect number of stops.

I can see why this tour sells out! - As I told Tim, our guide, my hiking style is "sloth on a walk about", but I loved this tour. Fairy Glen was a great starting hike and such an interesting area! Made it to the top at the Quiriang hike... Tim checked on me and others at the back a few times. Even with the rain and wind, this was a great hike! Did not make it to the top at Old Man of Storr but it was still a great hike. Again Tim checked on those of us at the back, making sure we were ok and not feeling neglected. The hike at Sligachan River was marred by midges which we had not had to deal with to that point. Great hike otherwise. The food from Isle of Sky Bakery was fantastic! But really, one of the best parts of this tour was our guide Tim. Personable, funny, great story teller, knowledgeable, caring... and made a really good tour even better!

Magical tour - We can’t speak highly enough about our WOW hiking tour of Isle of Skye. Our guide Murdoch was a highly skilled storyteller, constantly weaving tales of the Scottish Highlands history and his own experiences throughout our trip. Hiking the Old Man of Storr and the Quairang were the highlights of the trip for me. It was really special to have plenty of time to hike and explore the natural beauty of Skye, rather than experiencing it on a large tour bus. Murdoch brought us to areas that best showed the amazing scenery and magic of Skye!

Tim, our driver, did an... - Tim, our driver, did an excellent job showing us Isle of Skye. Being from the states, we would not do well driving a rental car. We are so glad this tour was an option as we are big hikers! We did have an amazing weather day too!

Come for the hiking, stay for the stories! - We were wowed at every turn (sometimes literally) by Murdoch's storytelling, knowledge of history and attention to detail. My husband and I were truly impressed by how seamlessly each stop along the way flowed, and skill with which Murdoch navigated the group dynamics while effortlessly telling tales from history that matched up with areas we were passing through or locations where we were about to stop. The hikes were well managed and described with enough detail that each person could decide what were appropriate paths that matches their level of ability and interest. I'm often anxious about a tour not having enough bathroom breaks, but this one had plenty of stops at good intervals to avoid anyone being uncomfortable. The boxed lunch available for purchase from the Isle of Skye Baking Company was a step up from the typical tour options of sandwiches from a convenience store, and the bonus of picking up the lunches at the attached art gallery gave those of us who were interested a chance to purchase some gorgeous keepsakes from local artists. The bakery owner included a wee treat in each box that was an extra special touch. The area itself is simply stunning, and the hikes are well chosen to give a variety of different views and experiences. One of the stops was at a special spot where no other buses or tourists were present. We could see tourists on a very busy trail, but we had a great view from where we were, with the place to ourselves. This is not the cheapest tour available, but we found the value for the cost to be exceptional. We would recommend it in a heartbeat, and already have!

The best holiday ever, beautiful scenery and stories! - A total success to let Wow Scotland take us from Inverness to the places we wanted to visit on the Isle of Skye; we did the Ultimate Isle of Skye and the Skye Explorer Hiking Tour. Both tours fascinated us and took us through spectacular landscapes, accompanied by tales and stories mixed between fantasies, myths and realities. Tim, our guide and group driver, was 100 points. Always attentive to every detail and need, with the immediate answer to every doubt or question. Unforgettable days in the Scottish Highlands.
