- Lyme Regis - First on the list is the charming seaside town of Lyme Regis, often referred to as the “pearl of Dorset.” The historic Cobb, dating back 700 years, was a filming location for “The French Lieutenant’s Woman.” This town is also a hub for fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coast and was home to Mary Anning, a pioneering figure in paleontology, and her dog.
- Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre - Just a short distance away is the village of Charmouth. Here, visitors can explore the Heritage Centre, which features numerous fossil displays, followed by a personal fossil hunting session. You might even discover your own dinosaur!
- Seatown - The next stop is lunch*. If it’s not too crowded, the plan is to dine at The Anchor Inn in Seatown. This delightful little smugglers’ inn and village is nestled into the cliffs, with Golden Cap (the highest point on the south coast) on one side and Thorncombe Beacon (offering breathtaking views of the entire Jurassic Coast) on the other. The pub is renowned for its fresh seafood and cliff-top bar.

- Symondsbury Estate - After everyone is refreshed, the journey continues to the picturesque village of Symondsbury. It is home to the Symondsbury Estate, which includes art galleries, a café, shops, and even pigs and goats! Visitors can also see the local landmark, Colmer’s Hill, and the eerie carvings in the holloway of Hell Lane.

- West Bay - Finally, enjoy a leisurely stroll around Bridport Harbour, also known as West Bay. UK visitors may recognize it as the filming location for Broadchurch. Walk along the breakwater for stunning views of the impressive Eastcliff.

We will then visit one of the counties best located pubs where you can have a drink and get some lunch before exploring the ancient feel of Symondsbury.
