Here, visitors can admire the Island’s impressive collection of Viking carved stone crosses and a stunning Celtic Wheel Headed cross from the 9th or 10th Century. Kirk Braddan is among the oldest surviving churches, with its main structure dating back to the 12th century, offering layers of captivating history to explore.
- Tynwald Hill - Heading towards the island’s center along the renowned TT course, the first stop is St. Johns to see Tynwald Hill. Established by Norse Viking settlers over a millennium ago, Tynwald is the world’s oldest continuous parliament. The hill is a significant landmark, symbolizing the Isle of Man’s autonomy as a self-governing crown dependency. The area is rich in history, featuring the Royal Chapel, a Giant’s grave, Ballaharra Neolithic Stones, and Bunscoill Ghaelgagh, the Manx Language Primary School.
- Peel - Traveling westward, the tour reaches Peel, also known as sunset city, with its picturesque backdrop of an ancient castle, fishing harbor, and sandy bay. Visitors can stroll through charming streets lined with tiny fishing cottages or enjoy the fresh sea breeze along the promenade with an ice cream, or around the castle, watching for Atlantic grey seals or resident Bottlenose dolphins, Moonlight and Starlight. Castle entry tickets are available for purchase on the day.
- Cregneash - Overlooking the Calf of Man, Cregneash was a bastion of the Manx language and customs, reflecting the traditional crofting lifestyle. Among the traditional thatched Manx cottages, visitors might spot two beloved and rare Manx animals: a tailless cat and the brown Loaghtan Sheep. Admission tickets are required for entry into the Working Folk Museum.
- The Sound Cafe Isle of Man - At the southern tip of the island, The Sound offers views over one of the most treacherous waters leading to the Calf of Man, now a nature reserve teeming with wildlife.
- Castletown - The tour then visits Castletown, the Isle of Man’s ancient capital, home to what is considered the best-preserved medieval castle in Europe. With its charming square, appealing harbor, and rich history, it is a must-see gem. Admission tickets are necessary for castle entry.
- Fairy Bridge - The tour concludes with a return via Fairy Bridge, where it is customary to greet the “Mooinjer Veggey” or Little People! The tour schedule accommodates travel between these points of interest.
