- Etihad Museum - Formerly known as the Union House, the Etihad Museum in Dubai is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and showcasing the United Arab Emirates’ heritage in social, political, cultural, scientific, and military history.
- Al Shindagha Museum - Situated in the iconic Dubai Creek area, this museum offers visitors a chance to explore Dubai’s rich history. It was developed as part of an initiative to transform the creek into a hub of culture and tradition.
The Shindagha Museum narrates the universal story of human innovation, resilience, and the pursuit of progress that has shaped modern-day Dubai. Visitors are invited to delve into the heritage, immersing themselves in authentic Emirati culture and its roots. The museum also emphasizes Dubai’s shared heritage with the region and the world.
- Bur Dubai Abra Station - The vibrant Dubai Creek has been a vital part of the city for generations and continues to draw visitors throughout the year. For just AED1 (US$0.27), you can board one of the traditional boats, known as abras, to cross the creek that divides Bur Dubai from Deira, the city center of Dubai.
The abras, or ‘water taxis,’ operate every few minutes throughout the day across four stations along Dubai Creek. The first route travels from Deira Old Souk Abra Station (near the Spice Souk) to Bur Dubai Abra Station (west of the Old Souk). The second, busier route runs continuously from Al Sabkha Abra Station (just southwest of Baniyas Square) to Dubai Old Souk Abra Station.
