A wonderful guide. - Sunset camel trekking, falcon show & VIP BBQ dinner by Oscar Knight Tours – it was an amazing experience and a wonderful afternoon. Special thanks to our guide and driver Ashraf! He turned a nice desert safari into something extraordinary! Caring, friendly, helpful, and with a great sense of humor. Ashraf met us at the hotel at the agreed time, and on the way to the desert, he thoroughly explained what was going to happen. And everything happened just as he said, and even more. On the way through the desert to the camp, he showed us his driving skills on the sand dunes. Before that, he asked if we were ready for it. Thanks to Ashraf, I had an experience I thought I would never have in my life. It was adrenaline-filled and at the same time fun. Ashraf is definitely the best driver I have ever had in my life! Later, he even drove us while we were riding camels, which shows his special personal and caring attitude. He also took us to the camel pen where we could feed and pet those lovely animals. The dinner at the camp was very tasty, and the performers and fire show were very impressive. Thanks to Ashraf and the whole team for providing an unforgettable experience!

Amazing guide and experience. - This was an amazing experience with Ashraf serving as our guide. He was attentive, professional and caring. Made a big difference in how we enjoyed this experience. The camels were sweet and adorable and my wife fell in love with them. We want a baby camel. Thank you for a wonderful time Ashraf and team.

Excellent!! - Service provider was excellent. As we do not know Dubai, we accidentally gave the wrong pick up address. We were picked up by someone else arranged by the company, and everyone was very accommodating to assist us. Thank you to our guide, he was excellent, with a bubbly personality and very wide general knowledge, not to mention his driving skills

A great and full desert experience for the whole family - We had a fantastic time on our desert tour - our driver, Shabbir if I remember correctly, picked us up very punctually, which was very appreciated! Our drive was smooth and comfortable, though there was an unexpected detour to buy headscarves, which we accepted as part of the experience. Our driver was very knowledgeable on driving in the desert and the best ways to avoid traffic jams, and excellent with our young children and adapting his driving to them - though it was still very exciting in the desert! Once at the camp, we had a great time on the camels, and the guide made sure to get many pictures of us throughout. We loved the opportunity to see the falcon up close and hold it, the kids were able to try an kid friendly version of sandboarding, and we enjoyed the sunset snacks and drinks. When we headed for dinner we had the best seats in the house and loved having our dinner served at the table while we enjoyed the entertainment. The only thing that I did not appreciate was the vendors coming to the table trying to sell their souvenirs, but once we said no to a few at the beginning of the evening, they did not come back. The drive back was exciting through the desert at night, and we got back to the hotel at a good time. All in all a fantastic experience for all of us!

What happens in DUBAI need not stay in DUBAI - Right on time, completely friendly guide who just wanted us to have the best experience. The attentiveness was great and communication. Only draw back was the pickup time being moved, but we realize the necessity of doing so. Overall, the activities, the service, the experience and the food were great.

Keep on trekking - We were kept informed of our scheduled camel trekking excursion. Waseem was prompt at pick up time. We had the 45” camel ride with the guide taking many pictures with many photo stops. Enjoyed the falcon show and sweet snack treat. We were catered to the entire event, there was always a guide with us. We had a table seating at the edge of the stage and were served our meal. We had a wonderful camel trekking, off-roading experience with plenty of food!! This excursion is well worth the value. Book this one today.

Enjoy a perfect desert sunset.. - My wife and I have visited Dubai together about 10/11 times since 2010. Personally, my first visit to Dubai was in 1973, when I remember it just as a fishing port. In the middle of a small souk was a Wimpy joint, where I bought a burger and fries. Such pleasant memories. Anyway, back to 2026 ! We chose not to select a specific 4x4 dune-bash because we have experienced this twice before. The 4x4 dune-bash is great fun, but it is absolutely essential that you select a reputable, desert-licensed company with professionally trained/qualified drivers using high-spec vehicles (with roll cage bars in case of a roll-over). There is a risk of roll-over in this type of environment, but I have not seen/experienced/heard of such a thing - a testament to the professionalism you can expect if you make the right choices. We were collected from our hotel at DXB by a super guy called Tarik M. A Moroccan man, who spoke perfectly good ‘English’ English ! We have travelled very widely across the Eastern Hemisphere and have engaged with a huge number of tour guides, and we can tell you that this guy is hard to beat. Tarik was gentle, pleasant, a great communicator, informative, happy to provide local/cultural information to/from the event - and happy to engage with us (enjoying a little practice with our limited use of the Arabic language). We had Tarik all to ourselves for the whole event, and he showed us great care and attention throughout. Once we left the main road network and entered the desert sands, Tarik adjusted the tyre pressures and gave us a gentle (but exciting) sand dune ride to the ‘camel meeting point’. Great fun. Here we were introduced to our camel ‘walker’. I regret not recording the name of this man, but he wore the traditional dish-dashah and shemagh. He spoke understandable English, was ‘smiley’, demonstrated great care of us getting on/off the camels and stopped occasionally throughout this stunning 45-minute ride. My wife and I each had a camel (although there is room for two on each animal). Our camel walker asked for my mb phone so that he could take pictures of us throughout the ride. I gladly gave it, and was happy to see great results. The desert is beautiful (and I am still in love with it, even after 52 years). *Hold on tight to the grab-rail as the camel is told to stand up/kneel down. After a peaceful, scenic ride we returned to the ‘Bedouin village’, but some yards outside the ‘village’ we realised a table had been set just for the two of us, where we were served Arabic coffee, dates and a bowl of tasty, sweet treats (similar to, but not the same as, profiteroles) by Tarik. Tarik reminded us that the desert is cold at night. He provided us with blankets, although we wore our jackets. Take warm clothing, because you will need it !! I suggest you wear shoes, socks and trousers/denim. Maybe take a cap, or wear a shemagh for a feeling of authenticity perhaps. The sand can suddenly be blown towards you, so perhaps think about eye protection. We were then invited to a well designed ‘village’ environment, in the centre of which was a square-shaped, large, low-level stage (for the tannouri, belly dancing and fire eater shows). Then came more food ! Firstly, samosas and falafel, bottled water, cola etc. Alcohol is available at extra cost (we didn’t bother with alcohol, it also seemed disrespectful). Then more food. Hot food, in stainless steel containers (chicken, lamb, pasta). Lots of side dishes, salad, slaw, humous. I couldn’t eat my usual amount here, because I had gorged on the Arabic sweets, dates and coffee. There are adequate toilet facilities, lockable cubicle doors, wash basins, soap and paper towels. Disappointing to see people leaving the toilets without washing their hands (my wife reported the same). Everywhere we travel, we witness the same thing - and then (surprise, surprise) we learn of terrible infection outbreaks. Morons walk amongst us. You will be approached by a few guys who wish to sell you some souvenirs. We bought a couple of items (coloured sand in a bottle) so be prepared to politely barter- it can be fun. Don’t worry… they will not be out of pocket. * These guys are permitted to approach you by the owner of the event, so don’t worry. The owner introduced himself to us, at our VIP table. Nice guy, good businessman ! What a completely fantastic night. We had not heard of this company before (Oscar Knight) but would use them again without hesitation… 100%

Amazing desert experience hosted by someone elsewhere - We booked this desert safari expecting a relaxed cultural evening with good food and warm hospitality. The desert delivered beautifully, the camp setting was lovely, and the food was genuinely good. The camel ride was a highlight and the camel handler was cheerful and welcoming. The falcon show was also wonderful and the handler clearly cared about both the birds and the guests. The server inside the camp was attentive and kind, which made the experience enjoyable once we arrived. Our guide Ashraf, however, appeared to be on a silent spiritual retreat of his own. Communication was minimal, enthusiasm was carefully rationed, and engagement with guests especially my elderly parents seemed to be an optional add-on not included in our package. He completed all required logistical tasks efficiently but warmth, welcome, or even conversational courtesy were clearly beyond scope that day. Perhaps he was expecting a different demographic and was surprised to find himself hosting my gentle old parents. Whatever the reason, it did feel like we were accompanying him on his commute rather than being guests on a hosted experience. That said, the safari itself was relaxed and enjoyable and the camp team largely redeemed the evening. With a more engaged guide this would easily have been a 5-star experience.

Holprig - The experience itself was exciting, but unfortunately a bit time consuming. We originally assumed a pick-up time at 3pm, but were then spontaneously informed that it was already starting at 1:30pm. Were picked up 30 minutes late, however. For some reason we drove almost 2 hours through the pampas, which would have taken us only 1 hour. Unfortunately, this whole mess ruined our day a bit. Nevertheless, the camel ride, the food and the performances were worth seeing. Better communication, then it works.
