Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy a drink and peruse the introductory materials provided by the guide. The tour kicks off with a brief overview of the events leading up to the revolutionary period, starting with the Great Hunger / Irish Famine of the 1840s and culminating in the 1916 Rising. - City Hall - Occupied by the Irish Citizen Army during the 1916 Rising, City Hall is a key stop where we discuss its significance during Easter Week 1916.
- Dublin Castle - At Dublin Castle, the center of British administration in Ireland, we explore its role in the 1916 Rising and the War of Independence. Fans of the Michael Collins movie may recognize it.
- Four Courts - The Four Courts, occupied by revolutionaries in 1916 and again leading up to the Irish Civil War in 1922, is best viewed from a bridge over the River Liffey. Here, we delve into its role in 1916 and 1922, and the complexities of the Civil War.
- O’Connell Monument - Along the walk, we pause at Daniel O’Connell’s Memorial to examine the bullet holes from the Rising and discuss the positions held by the British and Irish in 1916.
