Well worth going! - I knew a little about my Irish heritage, and the museum was very powerful and connecting me with my grandmother and father. I have dual citizenship and this was my first trip to Ireland. Hearing the stories is important to understand my citizenship in heritage.

Great Experience - Amazing multi media experience delving into all of the contributions the Irish have made over history. Beautiful complex and facilities. There is a lot to see and you can come back and see any areas you missed.

Irish Emigration - My tour included the Jranie Johnston. The guided ship tour was very informative and eye opening. The self guided tour through the museum was also very informative. I found to be most interesting.

Dublin must see, great exibit - This was not my first trip to Epic. I was so impressed the first time that I went, that I love bringing people there when they come to visit. Visit. The museum is so well laid out and informative. I love that it is very Hands-On. You can go at your own pace. Spend extra time in the exhibits that interest you in less time in the ones that don't. You should allow an hour and a half to 2 hours. It is a great thing to do. To learn more about Ireland, it's history, and the emigrants that that helped to shape our modern world. A definite must-see while in Dublin

Excellent Dublin Attraction - This attraction is centrally located on the north side of the river in Dublin. I thought it was well worth a visit. There’s loads of information about Irish history, with an emphasis on the Irish diaspora. It explains why people were forced (or chose) to leave Ireland, and celebrates the achievements and successes of Irish people in all corners of the world. The information is really well presented, and there is a lot of fascinating archival material on display. There are some interactive bits if you’re into that sort of thing. I tend to take my time in museums and read a lot, and it took me 90 minutes to see the complete exhibition. There is a free downloadable audio guide, I forgot my AirPods but I don’t think it really mattered. If you book online your ticket is a couple of Euros cheaper. There is also a sort of food mall onsite, where you can get a wide choice of food and drinks prior to or following your visit. A really interesting museum and highly recommended.

Could be better - We were excited to go to the EPIC museum, but I must admit I felt disappointed and underwhelmed by the visit. My gut was that there was a focus on technology in the design, versus immersion into the emigration stories. It became more interactive in the second half of the tour which helped the score. We enjoyed the passport room and the Irish bar quiz. More physical artifacts and models (e.g. typical lodgings) would help. Given that there are some many different generations and experiences, why not allocate each visitor a character (from a selection across time and experience) at the start, that they can find out a little bit more about as they move through the rooms. It would provide visitors with more depth of experience. On a positive note, all the staff were friendly and helpful and all the displays worked.

NOT WHAT ONE EXPECTS! - Not a single artifact at the "museum." They do have a large variety of videos and photo-boards describing the history of Irish emigration, but don't touch on the actual causes of the An Ghorta Mohr (Great Hunger) as one would have expected. Interesting but really not worth the visit.

Underwhelming - It could be so much more. I was disappointed that despite being a relatively new museum, better use of space and technology was not utilized. For example, teach a few traditional steps; have an exhibit showing typical overcrowded living conditions: whether in Ireland or destination country, or both. What was typical meal? Video clips of some of the performers ?

Ok, but not worth the hype. - I had high hopes for this museum considering it's 'Best European Tourist Attraction' award. I came away disappointed and wondering how it won that award (3 times!). The digital displays, the focus on stats and numbers rather than personal stories and the lack of historical information, particularly around the famine era, left me feeling very detached and uninterested. It wasn't awful and it's not a bad way to while away a rainy afternoon, but it's certainly not worth the hype.
