Historically, Ston served as the primary hub for sea salt production in the Dubrovnik Republic, and its salt pans rank among the oldest in Europe. The town is surrounded by the longest defensive walls from medieval Europe.
A key feature of the tour is the chance to harvest oysters by boat. Participants will gain insights into the oyster farming process and savor these delectable, natural aphrodisiacs straight from the sea. Additionally, a meal featuring mussels will be prepared, showcasing the popular and delicious “buzara,” which is well-loved throughout the region.
