Tirana Pickup – Ohrid – Skopje

Ohrid - The journey begins with a pickup from any location in Tirana, followed by a scenic 2.5-hour drive towards the North Macedonian border.

Upon crossing into North Macedonia, the trip continues to the charming town of Ohrid, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The drive meanders through picturesque hills and countryside, culminating at the beautiful shores of Lake Ohrid.

In Ohrid’s Old Town, the rich history and cultural significance are vividly brought to life. The walking tour includes a visit to the Church of St. John at Kaneo, dramatically situated on a cliff with stunning lake views. As the tour progresses through cobbled streets, stops include the Ancient Amphitheatre, a well-preserved Hellenistic relic, and the bustling City Center and traditional Old Bazaar.

Skopje - Departing from Ohrid, the journey continues with a scenic drive to Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia. Covering 170 km in approximately 2.5 hours, the route offers breathtaking mountain views.

Skopje – Pristina – Prizren (Kosovo)

Pristina - The adventure continues into Kosovo, Europe’s youngest nation. A 90 km drive, lasting about 1.5 hours, leads to Pristina, a city that is rapidly evolving while maintaining its cultural roots. Highlights include the Newborn Monument, a powerful symbol of Kosovo’s independence, the uniquely designed National Library, and the serene Mother Teresa Cathedral, honoring Albania’s renowned humanitarian.

Prizren - From Pristina, the journey heads south to Prizren, a delightful Ottoman-era town nestled in the mountains. The 85 km drive takes about 1.5 hours, passing through scenic countryside to reach this cultural treasure. Upon arrival, the picturesque Old Stone Bridge welcomes visitors to Prizren, where the elegant Sinan Pasha Mosque stands as a testament to the city’s rich heritage. A short walk leads to Prizren Fortress, offering panoramic views over the town, perfect for capturing unforgettable moments. After some free time to enjoy the charming streets, guests check into a 3-4 star hotel in the city center, with the evening free for exploration.

Prizren – Shkodër (Albania)

Shkoder - Returning to Albania, the drive to Shkodër covers 180 km and takes approximately 3 hours. Known for its artistic ambiance and historical depth, this northern city offers a perfect blend of nature and culture. Instead of visiting museums, a relaxing drive to Shirokë Village, a tranquil lakeside retreat by Lake Shkodër, provides a perfect coffee break amidst stunning scenery.

The next stop is Rozafa Castle, one of Albania’s most legendary fortresses, dramatically perched above the city. Exploring its ancient ruins reveals fascinating legends integral to Albanian folklore. From the top, views extend over the lake, the Buna and Drin Rivers, and the expansive Albanian countryside. Shkodër – Kotor – Shkoder

Kotor - On the fourth day, the tour ventures into Montenegro, with the first stop at St Stephen (Sveti Stefan) for a panoramic photo opportunity.

The journey continues to Kotor, a UNESCO-listed city nestled within the stunning Bay of Kotor. The 23 km drive takes 30 minutes, offering breathtaking views of Montenegro’s dramatic coastline. In Kotor, the beautifully preserved Old Town is explored, with its medieval streets, Venetian-style buildings, and ancient churches. A relaxed lunch in Kotor provides the perfect chance to savor Montenegrin cuisine before returning to Albania.

Shkoder - The return drive to Shkodra features scenic mountain landscapes and picturesque coastal roads.

During the summer months of July and August, an alternative shorter route through Old Bar City and Ulqin is suggested to avoid overwhelming traffic and ensure a pleasant tour experience.

Shkodër –Berat

Berat - Departing from Shkodra, the drive to the UNESCO-listed city of Berat takes around 3 hours. Known as the “City of a Thousand Windows,” Berat is celebrated for its well-preserved Ottoman architecture and stunning hillside location. Upon arrival, a guided walk through Berat Castle offers a journey back in time. Within its ancient walls, a maze of Byzantine churches, Ottoman mosques, and charming stone pathways provide spectacular views over the Osum River. Berat – Durres – Tirane

Durres - On the final day, the journey leaves the historic city of Berat and heads north to the Adriatic coast to explore Durrës—one of Albania’s oldest and most vibrant cities. Once a significant Roman port, Durrës still boasts fascinating ancient ruins, including the largest amphitheater in the Balkans and remnants of its old Byzantine walls. A pleasant walk along the seafront promenade offers views of the modern marina, with the option to stop for a coffee by the sea.
