My Son Sanctuary - The guide will collect guests from their hotel and head to My Son, a key site of the Champa Kingdom. Situated in a picturesque valley and encircled by mountain ranges, My Son is among the most breathtaking locations in Central Vietnam, just 80 kilometers from Da Nang.
During the excavation of My Son, letters were discovered indicating that the complex had been used for offerings and the worship of the Hindu god since the 4th century. In 1999, UNESCO recognized My Son as a World Heritage Site. The My Son Sanctuary is an extraordinary architectural collection that evolved over ten centuries, vividly depicting the spiritual and political life during a crucial period in Southeast Asia.
Initially constructed with wood, the temples in My Son were entirely destroyed by fire in the 6th century and were restored in the 7th century by Sambhuvarman, who reconstructed them using locally made bricks. By the 13th century, over 70 similar temples had been built.
