My Son Sunrise tour - As a solo traveler, I was slightly hesitant about booking a private tour, but Andy made the whole process straightforward from the start. The 5:15am pickup was perfectly on time, and the early start really does make a difference — seeing My Son at sunrise was a genuinely memorable experience. Arriving that early meant we avoided the crowds and the heat, which made it a much more relaxed visit. Andy’s knowledge of the Champa civilisation and My Son was impressive. He explained the history and significance of the temples clearly, and also spoke about the damage caused during the Vietnam War, which added important context. He also suggested visiting the Museum of Cham Sculpture in Da Nang — I went the day after this tour, and it definitely helped me appreciate the site more fully. What I appreciated most was that the tour felt natural and well-paced rather than rehearsed. Andy explained things clearly and was happy to answer questions, which made it easy to follow and engage with the history. He also offered to take a few photos for me, which was helpful as a solo traveler. I plan to return to Hoi An again and will definitely be contacting Andy to arrange future tours of this area. If you’re in Hoi An and planning to visit My Son, I’d recommend the sunrise option without hesitation.

Going back to ancient time with an excellent guide and great food - There are so many good reason to start at 5:30am in the morning, It was late Jan when we go and it can get quite hot during the day and shades are rare. But it was worth the early start, our hotel (Little Hoi An - Hoi An) prepared our breakfast packs ready to go, which was a very pleasant surprise despite the fact that we didn't book the tour with them, but I just mentioned during my stay. After being picked up from our hotel, the transport bus was packed with 10 persons but it was still comfortable. The coach ride took about 1.5 hours, and our tour guide Suong was very professional, and her English was very good. She took our coffee orders during the coach ride so we could have a coffee when we arrived at, the My Son Sanctuary. When we arrived at the sanctuary, the morning mist was still presence, and it was very beautiful and being so early, there was no other group yet. So you can appreciate the tranquillity of the surroundings. After a quick coffee and a short electric ride to the actual temple, Suong started her introduction and highlighted must-see and the general flow of the tour. I am glad she was there as we will be missing a lot of significant artifacts and their history behind them. Then she allowed us have some free time to explore and take photos. If you are a history bluff, this place is a must and the shame is that there is not many information on site because of its UNESCO restriction so to understand more of the Champa history, I have been told to visit the museum in Hanoi. Then our group went back to the gathering place and lunch was served. It was generous and delicious. We had noodles and some local desserts and cakes. After the tour dropped us off to the hotel. We only have time to cover the main area of the temple; there were more of the site, but it was largely been destroyed during the war but probably still worth seeing. This tour is highly recommended, and thank you for Suong for her enthusiasm and her impeccable knowledge, it was very fulfilling even in such short time.

The most amazing morning - The most amazing morning at My Son sanctuary with our tour guide. 5am pick up from the hotel was more than worth it for the views and the experience of being the only people there (no busy tour groups!) and I cannot express how moving it was to see the sunlight on the ancient temples. We would highly recommend this if you are staying in Da Nang or Hoi An 🩷

Special visit to My Son and a buffalo ride. - We had a combo private tour that included the sunrise tour to My Son. Andy is excellent at setting up special adventures and finding great guides. We had Mr.Ken who had an amazing personal story and strong knowledge of the history and archeology of the site. After this, we had the water buffalo ride. While it is just riding the buffalo in a circle, it was magical. The buffalo was gentle and friendly and I loved it. I must thank Andy and his team for arranging this for us. I highly recommend them and going to this site early. We had solo access for almost an hour. Made the visit more mysterious and meaningful.

Make this tour an absolute priority! - My Son early in the morning is a MUST!!! I was actually blown away by how much it exceeded my expectations. Ms. Sue was wonderful. They were prompt in picking us up, and getting up for the 5am tour was unbelievably rewarding. We were literally the first group in the area. The historical context was fascinating, and this tour was super educational. Ms. Sue knew exactly where to take us and ensured all of our photos were taken to our liking. She explained that thousands of people visit per day, and by the time we were leaving it was clear we would not have gotten the photos of this amazing site without going at the time we did! I would say this tour has to be #1 on your list.

Great tour rain or shine - Great transportation and tour of My Son Sancturary from Da Nang! We were picked up at our hotel in a private clean van. It was raining the day we went so we did not see the sunrise but we still had a great time seeing the buildings on the tour. The cloudy rainy day actually worked out great as I think it kept many other visitors away and the green plants and vegetation popped on pictures next to the orange bricked buildings. The rain was heavy during certain parts of the drive to My Son but our driver handled the roads with standing water very efficiently and safely. Our tour guide was knowledgeable about the sanctuary and after he told us about each site, he let us take pictures at our own pace without rushing us. We were the first tourists there so we had no one else in the way of pictures. Definitely worth waking up early to have the sights to yourself. This tour group knows what they are doing. I would totally recommend this tour to anyone visiting Da Nang.

Small group early morning My Son 4hr tour - Early morning tour was run to schedule and executed by kind, informative and knowledgeable guide Mr Ken, who also related some of his fascinating and at times moving experiences as a war veteran and his life in general. We were the first through the gate and first on-site. 4hours was an adequate amount of time.
