It was strategically crucial during the Vietnam War, facilitating the transport of troops, weapons, and supplies to the Viet Cong in South Vietnam.
Ho Chi Minh Highway - The trail comprised thousands of miles of dirt roads, footpaths, and waterways, often relocated or concealed to avoid U.S. bombing raids. Despite heavy bombing by the U.S. to disrupt supply lines, its complexity and dense jungle terrain made it difficult to destroy completely.
