Great - Staff was very friendly and knew exactly where to take us to have a great snorkel experience. We wanted to see turtles and they ensured we got to see them. The all inclusive was great too.

TRIP FOR THOSE YOU LOVE THE ISLANDS AND THE SEA! - My wife and I also did the sunset champagne crusie. Captain Tuna was AWESOME! Captain Sean and mates were attentive, courteous, and made the trip fun and memorable! They food and drink were outstanding! Snorkeling was great! We are Kenny Chesney fans and just came from his concert at the Sphere in Las Vegas. They showed us his home and took a picture of us in front of his home, from the water. THIS IS A MUST do trip for those looking to enjoy the water and have a great time. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES.

Out of this world great - The crew was incredible, captain big tuna (dont call him “big” it hurts his feelings), Kennedy, Dawn and the rest of the crew were INCREDIBLE. I didnt have any kind of expectations out of this trip but if i had im certain they wouldve blown them out of the water. They didnt just give great service, they had fun with us, got to know us, experienced everything with us as if they never stopped being grateful for the life they get to lead. The places were incredible, the food was great, and the boat was clean and safe. But the crew takes the cake, thank you so much for your hospitality and service.

Snork-tacular!! - We had so much fun!!! As a group of 5 friends we are usually having a good time but this crew and captain were funny, nice, and knowledgeable which made our sunset cruise so perfect. Just the right amount of information, music, drinks and visiting with other passengers. Thanks Snorkel Cat Crew!

Highly Recommended – A Standout Experience in St. Thomas - I had the pleasure of joining the Snorkel Cat Adventure Snorkel Tour to St. John during a recent visit to St. Thomas, and I can’t recommend it enough. From the well-organized check-in to the scenic sail and snorkeling stops, every part of the experience was top-notch.
Captain Tuna and his crew brought incredible energy to the tour—witty, welcoming, and clearly passionate about their role. Their enthusiasm truly elevated the entire experience.
The tour also features a signature cocktail, the Painkiller, which was both refreshing and expertly made—a perfect complement to a day on the water.
If you're planning a trip to St. Thomas, I would strongly suggest making this tour one of your first activities. It's a fantastic way to soak in the island atmosphere and kick off your stay with something truly memorable.

Great experience, but more boating than snorkeling time - My family of four went on this trip last week in June. Transportation on St. Thomas is per person per destination and can get expensive. The rates are published on the Internet and approved Taxi providers are licensed and typically show that on their lanyard or posted in their van. It costs us $15 per person each way from Crown Bay where our cruise ship docked to Margaritaville where Snorkel Cat docks. Factor that into the cost you expect. Taxis are abundant and pretty quick. It took about 25 mins for the 7 miles to reach Margaritaville and about the same amount of time to return. Always get the driver’s phone number, but typically they will agree to pick you up at whatever time you wish for your return trip. Our driver was waiting on us when we returned at 3:30PM.
Snorkel Cat offered us a 5-hour trip. On the day of check in, you will get a text or an email to sign electronic waivers – that saved some time. They ask you to be there an hour before they set sail, which is reasonable and gives you plenty of buffer time if you run late. We still had to stand in line and check in, even though we checked in from the email electronically – a simple role call would have saved a lot of time. Although this is advertised as a 5-hour snorkel trip, we only had two 45 min sessions in the water. The rest of the time is boating, eating lunch, and drinking alcohol on the boat, if that is what you like. Food for lunch was some shrimp cocktail, Caesar salad, and cold cut sandwiches which was fine. We did have a pleasant ride to and from St. John, but then we just stopped in the middle of the water on our return trip (I guess because we had tail winds and would be arriving early). I would have rather had this time snorkeling. The boat had plenty of seating for everyone and wasn’t crowded – there might have been 40 to 50 people (the boat will hold 70). Go up top for sun or stay on the covered deck for shade. Crew did a great job and seemed to accommodate everyone’s needs.
I imagine they go to different destinations depending on the conditions and the time of year. Sargassum is really bad in the Caribbean in June, so going on a trip with a guide who takes you where it is not is a good decision. Snorkeling at the first Oppenheimer Bay was ok, the second destination Hawksnest bay was fantastic due to the coral and the rocks there. We saw one small 12” turtle and one pretty large (4-foot) sting ray. Lots of colorful fish – not thousands of fish like you will find in Hawaii, but hundreds in different pockets you swim to – typical of the Caribbean. We just didn’t have enough time there to see it all. If more snorkeling and less boating (and drinking) is what you wish, you may want to call them and ask how much time you will have in the water on your planned date. I had to subtract a star in the rating due to this.
