The adventure begins early in the morning with a drive south along the Avenue of Volcanoes. The day’s destination is one of the world’s highest active volcanoes and a renowned attraction in Ecuador: the majestic Cotopaxi, standing at 5,897 meters. This magnificent, snow-covered volcano is situated in the heart of the picturesque national park that shares its name. Upon reaching the entrance of Cotopaxi National Park, the guide provides insights into the area’s unique flora and fauna, as well as the volcano’s history. Following this, the journey continues to Limpiopungo Lake, located at 3,850 meters, where a hike through the breathtaking paramo landscape awaits. Here, visitors can observe hummingbirds, wild horses, and other wildlife. Throughout the experience, the towering Cotopaxi Volcano remains just a short distance away, and on a clear day, it can be admired in all its splendor. In the afternoon, the journey returns to Quito.
