Galapagos eith Takiri travel - We are two couples friends that travel together, we decided to travel to Galapsgos and contacted Takiri travel and talked eith Alex. We explained our interest in spending a week in the Galapagos and explained what we wanted to see, our age, and the composition of our group. Alex planned a 7-day trip for us, taking into account our opinions and making suggestions based on that and the characteristics of the Galapagos. We accepted and set off. I can say that the plan was excellent; it made the experience wonderful and unforgettable. We have traveled many times around the world, and this was one of the best we've had. I warmly recommend Takiri Travel as a service provider in the Galapagos.

A great choice - We are very happy we chose a land-based trip to the Galapagos. Not only was it much cheaper than a cruise, but I believe we got a better feel for the people of the islands. It was great having transportation and activities arranged for us. All the guides were knowledgeable, helpful, and super nice. We enjoyed doing things with different people each time, and it was fun that some activities were just us. We also had lots of free time in the afternoon/evenings to explore the towns on our own, eating local food. We lucked out and were there for the tree-lighting ceremony on Isabela. All in all we highly recommend.

Great Experience! - The Galapagos is a must visit place if you love nature and wildlife! The tour with takiri was amazing and we did so many incredible activities during the trip. The hotels were of a good standard and the restaurants were nice with plenty of options. The trip was really well organized and a nice pace with plenty of activities planned but also enough time to relax. We travelled during late July and August and the weather was really nice, not too hot and not too cold. The sea is cold this time of year so would recommend using a wet suit if you go at similar times. It is a good time to visit though as you have a good chance to see Whales and the sharks come to warm up in the shallow water so great snorkeling! All in all a really great trip that was excellent value for money!

Once in a lifetime experience! - We had an outstanding experience with Takiri Travel. We were taken care of from the time we landed in the Galapagos until the moment we left. During our trip, each of our guides was knowledgeable and friendly - we had so many standout experiences it’s hard to pick just one, but swimming with the sharks was definitely a highlight! Wildlife galore and the variety of activities was fantastic. Alex was so responsive to any and all questions we had throughout the trip. We wouldn’t hesitate to book through Takiri again. Thanks again for an amazing trip!

Couldn't have asked for a better experience, I just wish I could have been there longer! - My friend and I booked this 4 months before leaving- and we couldn't have made a better choice. The food was delicious, the tour guides spoke English l, the tour groups were small (some were even 1 on 1) and most importantly - we were taken care of from the moment we landed on Baltra to the moment we were leaving Baltra one week later. Our name was on the top of every excursion list every day, our rides were always on time, our travel agent (Alex) was responsive, attentive, caring and even showed up at our door to say goodbye. To have someone always ready and waiting for us before and after each excursion put us at ease. We did not have to worry about anything. We did suggest that they adjust their itinerary slightly for future travelers and Alex happily took it into consideration.

The Galapagos experience - Our trip to the Galapagos was awesome and affordable. We traveled independently (not as a tour package) and stayed in fairly inexpensive, but nice, accommodations. The 3 towns we stayed in were all different from each other and were great to visit. The locals were very accommodating and friendly. Went on 2 snorkel trips that were a great experience. Snorkeled with sea turtles, penguins, sharks, and marine iguanas.. Great trip!!

Best organised tour we've ever been on. - We had an incredible time on our Takiri tour in the Galapagos, it was the best organised tour we've ever been on. Positives 1. From before we even booked, they (Alex) had excellent communication via email. He replied quickly, understood all our questions and answered them clearly and in detail. This gave us the confidence we needed to book with them. 2. On the tour itself, one thing we found exceptional was that there was always someone taking care of us. I think we must have met over 20 different guides and drivers over the course of one week. But they always knew who we were and where we needed to go. We were never left alone. Even if it was just waking us 50 metres from the taxi to the dock, there was always someone showing us where to go. This gave us huge comfort and allowed us to relax and enjoy the holiday, knowing that if we needed to do something, someone would tell us. 3. When we were unsure about anything, we messaged Takiri (I think it's usually Alex) and they always replied quickly. They always knew exactly what was going on. This was also very comforting. We felt that they were fully in control and we could reach them if there would be any issues out in the field. 4. Even though what we booked was called the 'budget' tour, all hotels had AC and hot water, which was fantastic. The last hotel had a pool which was also a nice surprise. 5. They were flexible with our start dates and picked us up from the airport. 6. Alex sent a detailed itinerary in advance, this was a lifesaver. We kept reading it every day to know what to expect from the next day. It was very clear and neatly structured. It also had loads of vital information, such as which activities were included and which items we still need to pay for. 7. We were with a different group almost every day, which was very refreshing. It was also great that most of the groups were small. Sometimes it was just my partner and myself, which was incredible! Some tips 1. The Sierra Negra hike is 16km total, not 8km. 2. Overall, the timeliness was impressively good, considering you have to deal with both ‘island time’ and ‘latina time’. That being said, there were some occasions where we were given a rough pickup time from the hotel or perhaps a 30min range. If you don’t want to spend too much time waiting in the hotel lobby wondering when someone will come, I would recommend double checking with the guides (or Alex) the day before each activity what time exactly your next driver will be in the lobby. 3. After we landed we still had to pay for some small things, which was annoying e.g. a dollar for the water taxis, some dollars for the port fee, five dollars for the airport bus, etc. I’d recommend you have some small change easy to hand. There is also a $20 transit card which you pay for in Guayaquil airport before you leave for Galapagos and a $100 national park fee when you land in Galapagos. This is also mentioned in your itinerary. 4. Galapagos has a tipping culture. It would be best to educate yourself as to the amounts in advance and make sure to bring change.

Very highly recommend! - This trip was amazing!! We had dreamed of going to the Galapagos for years and this lived up to and exceeded our expectations! Takiri took great care of us every step of the way without hovering. And the outings were perfectly planned! If we had a hike in the morning, they planned something easier on the feet for the afternoon. We saw and did soooo much, and every single guide was fabulous! Takiri was very responsive if we had requests or issues. We were able to order wet suits for the Los Tunnels trip, which we highly recommend doing. And when we had two members of the group who got very bad motion sickness on the ferry, Alex arranged for flights for them and made sure we knew about the hefty luggage charges for intra-island flights so we could avoid that.

Well worth the money! - This was an excellent trip, and well worth the money! We stayed in great accommodations on Isobela and Santa Cruz Islands, were treated like gold by all of our guides and got to do so many more activities than we would have had we gone without a tour. The wildlife on the Galapagos are simply amazing!

Excellent service and Darwin best guide - We booked our budget 7 days trip to galaplogos directly through Takiri. It was me, my husband and 20 Yr old son. I think going directly is far better as you get a better deal and you develop a direct relationship so you can call them every time and make personalised changes which you can't make on Viator. Alex, the owner is very sincere and honest. He always gave me an honest advice while I was planning the itinerary and making personal adjustment to the trip. We had 3 nights in Isabela island are Cally hotel and 3 nights at Lava hotel in Santa Cruz. Our Sierra Negra trip was on horse riding which was not possible for us otherwise. It is 10km each way, out of which 9 is horse ride and last 1km is on foot. The terrain is basically a volcano mountain so it up and down. I would recommend the horse ride although we had no previous experience of horse ride. It was fun. Los toneles is far better site for snorkeling and we saw Golden ray, eagle ray, white tip sharks and lots of sea turtles. Sea lions are always nosy so they are always around. Our guide Darwin was the best guide, among all the different guides we came across during our different activities. Tintoreras visit was a waste of time, in my opinion. The usual ride between the Santa Cruz and isabella is high speed boat and that is a horrible experience. There's a airplane between the two island but I didn't know. And the luggage limit is 16 kg per person. I was very sea sick on both journeys. Next time, I will fly 😎 no jet speed boat. The sea gets very rough. The day we were supposed to get on boat for our ride back to santa cruz island which was at 5.10am since the boat was at 6am, the driver forgot and didn't come for pick up. We tried to call Alex and Diana our local head guide but at 5.30am no one picked up. So we missed our boat. When Alex finally picked up around 7am,he couldn't believe that such a thing could happen. He tried his best to get us on the airplane but there were only 2 seats available. Then we got on to 3pm boat. Alex was very apologetic and booked one wonderful lunch before departure and one posh dinner at Santa Cruz island. My only regret is due to the late arrival at Santa Cruz, I didn't recover from my sea sickness and missed my first ever scuba dive which would have been in Galaplogos. I was really looking forward for it but... My son really enjoyed the dive. He saw so many white tip sharks, lots of different varieties of fish. It was an aquarium but we were in their world. We booked the dive as extra through Alex and I would recommend it. As whole, I would highly recommend Alex and Takiri and would book with them again but if you have to catch an early morning ferry then ask him to give you the direct number for the driver.
