Sierra Negra - Begin the day with a hike to the Sierra Negra volcano (a 12 km trek), where travelers will witness the largest active caldera in the archipelago and learn about the islands’ unique geography.
Puerto Villamil - After hiking, enjoy a leisurely kayak experience. Delight in the Pacific Ocean and the tranquil bay waters while observing more unique wildlife.
Biking Tour to the Wetlands and Wall of Tears - Snorkeling at Tintoreras Islet
The Wall of Tears - Start the day biking to the Wetlands of Isabela and the Wall of Tears. Learn about the islands’ controversial political history while encountering giant tortoises along the way.
Las Tintoreras - After biking, board a small boat for a short ride to the islet. Take a 45-minute walk to see marine iguanas and frigatebirds. Then, snorkel in the bay’s calm waters to spot white-tip reef sharks, colorful fish, and more endemic wildlife.
Santa Cruz Island: Charles Darwin Station, Giant Tortoises Farm, and the Twins
Charles Darwin Research Station - Take an early-morning boat to Santa Cruz. Upon arrival, the staff will meet travelers and escort them to their designated hotel. After a brief rest, visit the Charles Darwin Station and the Breeding Center to learn about efforts to protect this fragile ecosystem.
Rancho Primicias - After a morning of learning, head to the highlands of Santa Cruz. Visit a Giant Tortoise farm to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Walk through lava tunnels and visit the Twins: the largest sinkholes on the islands, formed by the collapse of empty underground magma chambers.
Santa Fe Island and the Hidden Beach
Santa Fe Island - Embark on a pesca-tourism boat to Santa Fe Island. Snorkel in the bay alongside sea lions and sea turtles. Then, take a short walk to the Hidden Beach, where sea lion pups and Darwin finches can sometimes be found.
