Wonderful Guide & Food - Gee did such an amazing job showing us around Edinburgh. Even with the rain, it was such a lovely afternoon exploring the Old Town. During the tour Gee was often asking us questions about our interests and adapting the tour as we went to make it more customized. The food was delicious and we got to taste all of the local dishes we were hoping to try out. Despite Mother Nature’s best efforts, it was a perfect first day in Scotland with the friendliest guide.

I ate BLACK PUDDING! - Had a nice experience trying foods and drink with Andre as the guide. He was quite informative about Edinburgh with some historic tide bits. We tried hand pies from a great buttery bakery, Mor Bakehouse. We had lagers from the Jolly Judge. Andre knew of a specialty cheese shop that has Scottish eggs, but alas, they were already sold-out. We toured a bit, and then ended at the Tolbooth Tavern.....whoaaa! Authentic pub. Started with a whiskey and then a cider....we sampled haggis, smoked salmon, goat cheese croquettes, and an interesting black pudding. Was really yummy on top of this crispy potato. Andre was interesting and very accommodating. I recommend this tour with Andre so you can no miss tasting and drinking Scottish faire.

Bespoke Tour - Gee was a great tour guide. Tour was very informative and a great activity to do upon arrival in Edinburgh. Since the tour is private, Gee was able to customize based on the various interests of the group. Over food and drinks, he helped us map out the rest of our stay in Edinburgh. Would highly recommend

Don’t judge a book by its cover - When we showed up I have to say Adam seemed really young and I wasn’t sure how the evening would go even thought he had been in contact making sure he had every I dotted and t crossed. But once we started going we realized he was very mature, friendly and well versed in history past and more current history. He picked really amazing food stops and even got my anti haggis family to try it and gotta say, it was delicious. Well worth booking.

Historical Treasure Trove - Our guide was such a treasure trove of historical information. He went above and beyond showing us around Edinburgh. We were able to explore and learn quite a bit about Edinburgh and the history of the Scottish people.

Not as described- do not spend the money. - The tour is absolutely not as described. Guide was nice but took us to tourist pub on Royal Mile (we could have found that ourselves). There is no food hopping/different locations. This tour cost over $400 USD. Save your money and ask hotel for great restaurant recommendation. When we asked the guide if we would be going to different places and sampling like the description he said that is not a ‘thing’ in Scotland. We are not in Spain. Guide was great at emailing us prior to tour but I wished he told us the truth and said we would not be following itinerary and would only be eating at tourist pub. It made for an incredibly awkward dinner. I have requested partial refund with Viator (as we did eat food). If Viator does not help us out with this- this tour was so misrepresented/ we will never use Viator again.

Avoid Avoid Avoid - We booked a tour well in advance with City Unscripted. On day of tour we couldn’t get a taxi so we were delayed. Tried calling and WhatsApp our guide well in advance. No answer and no response. Contacted their main help line and only response we got is that they were trying to contact the guide. They didn’t respond to any messages after that and never gave us an update. We arrived 15 minutes late and there was no sign of the guide. Numerous messages and calls and got no response from them. Issues happen but they could have at least told us, rather than having us waiting around for a guide that was never going to show up. Extremely unprofessional. Everyone understands when issues happen but if you don’t communicate it makes a bad situation worse. Do not book with these people.
