• Greyfriars Kirkyard - We’ll pass through Greyfriars Kirkyard, finding gravestones of characters within the Harry Potter series. (Who must not be named..)
  We’ll also spot “Hogwarts School” of wizardry from inside the graveyard.
• Grassmarket - Famous street in Old Town Edinburgh with lots of rich history, stories and 1 Potter connection.
• Writers’ Museum - We’ll stand outside the historic Writer’s Museum and visit the Makars court yard area.
• Royal Mile - We’ll weave in and out of the most famous street in Edinburgh. We will walk through the top area of the Royal Mile, including the Lawnmarket and Castlehill.

Join a private tour through Edinburgh’s historic Old Town. Discover where J.K. Rowling found inspiration for her world-renowned Harry Potter series. The journey begins on the iconic Royal Mile, in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle. From there, explore Edinburgh’s version of “Diagon Alley” and visit a real graveyard to find the grave of “he who must not be named.” Learn about the cafes where Rowling penned the start of her book and where she concluded it in luxury.

With a degree in Tourism Management from Edinburgh and extensive experience in the Scottish tourism industry, the operator is passionate about guiding you. The operator’s final year thesis focused on the Harry Potter phenomenon and its impact on Scottish tourism.
