Graveyard & Vaults Tour - Went on a tour to Greyfriers Kirk and down to Niddrie Street Vaults. I’m an Edinburgh resident but picked up a good few things I didn’t know. Our guide James was very friendly and enthusiastic and had a wealth of local knowledge. I was also impressed with how much of the Vaults we got to see. James was great and even managed to impress my 16 year old son which is no easy task! The tour was great value for money and I would thoroughly recommend.

Fun evening exploring ghostly haunts of Edinburgh with Auld Reekie! - We had a great tour with Darren! He is an awesome storyteller which made for a very entertaining evening. He hit just the right tone, he was not overly dramatic, he had the right amount of clever humor, mixed with a good amount of Edinburgh history. He shared tales about the more famous occupants of Greyfriars Cemetery and their untimely and sometimes gruesome demises. Some who may still be exercising their own brand of evil late into the night. The vaults were equally as interesting as I knew very little about them and their origin. And the bizarre fact that a coven met there with regularity through 2014. And a few ghastly ghost stories were shared as expected in such a creepy, dark and damp environment. Kudos to Darren for leading such a fun, interesting and informative tour. A++ P.S. We were on the Cemetery and Vaults Tour. This included walking up slight hills to get to both locations, the vault portion includes walking up and back down a single story spiral staircase and upon entering the vaults there is a 18-20 inch step which has a grab bar to pull urself up if needed. And when in the vaults it is very low lit so if ur vision isn’t very good it might be uncomfortable for you.

Enthusiastic guide, content could be better - Our tour guide James, was very energetic and enthusiastic. Content of the tour could use some improvement. The portion at Greyfreyiar’s focuses too much on the story of Bobby. The part in the vaults is too focused on the modern occult occupation, when its construction and history as Victorian slum sounded a lot more interesting.

Light on Kirkyard, heavy on damp pointless Vaults - We spent very little time in the Kirkyard and way too much time in the Vaults. The vaults are actually just smelly damp opening under a bridge and there was virtually no explanation as to their significance. We would have enjoyed spending more time in the Kirkyard.

I could not believe how cheeky the wee guy was that took the tour straight of the bat as well . - I don't want to waste my time with this I could go into but I have better things to do. They don't even make it clear where your supposed to meet. They give me an address but the building is being renovated. So me and my partner where running around looking for the place to meet. So when we finally found the guy he said we're leaving in 2 mins I said I have to use the bathroom quick he actually said you can't were leaving in 2 mins. I can't believe someone would tell you can't use the toilet. I went to the toilet anyway how the hell does anyone except another human being to hold in a pss for an hour and a half. If the instructions about where to meet were clearer then I would not have had that issue. Then when I came from the bar he's shouting out the tour starts in 3 2 1 while looking me in the eye. in front of everyone, what a weird guy. Then 2 people from New Zealand came and asked if it was where u meet. The tour guide said yeah are u booked in? they said no were booked in at 6 he said you can join this group. So then he takes a few minutes to book them in, so it didn't start in 321 after all, obviously on commission. It really wasn't that interesting anyway and he just made it worse. The interaction with the group was bizarre he would ask a question then answer before anyone had a chance. I normally enjoy these tours but not this time. I will never use this company again nor would I recommend it to anyone. I didn't pay £48 to be spoken to like I'm something the clown just stood on.
