Weekend Away with friends - £18 for 2 days , excellent value for money . Did city tour on the first day , definitely a must if you want to see as much as you can , earphones available, speaking different languages. Learning all about Edinburgh culture and history of this great city Did britannia tour on the 2nd day , not as good as the city tour but still very interesting, would recommend it expecially if you can not walk a lot this is ideal as you can hop in and out as many time as you want , good value for money

Great tour fab people - James was very helpful with selling us our tickets and explained what we would see if we chose the city tour and what we see if we chose the Britannia tour. We decided to go with the city tour and then we bumped into Jon who kindly upgraded our tickets to the Britannia tour. me and my partner had a fantastic day for his birthday And saw loads of great sites. Thank you so much. Edinburgh has been amazing.

Edinburgh bus tour - Very good experience! Me and my family enjoyed it. It is quite easy to hop on and off on its stops and the audio for the tour is good.

sounds great but needs a big rethink - I booked the Hop on Hop off thinking it would be a great way to see Edinburgh, and to get us up to the castle and to the Royal Yacht Britannia (both of which we pre-booked as well). I bought both the orange and purple route to cover both venues. As it turned out, we had to walk miles to 'the start' to activate our QR coded bus ticket which rather defeated the object, since bus stop 3 was very close to our hotel. Unfortunately for Edinburgh, all the traffic lights are very badly out of sync and therefore we spent most of our time sitting in traffic listening to lift-style awful music on the HoHo headphones. We could hardly wait to get off the bus. It was so bad that we ended up taking the tram (superb, but make sure you buy the all-day ticket) to the RYB rather than waste our lives sitting in traffic. I would like to say that all the HoHo staff were truly delightful and extremely helpful.

An awful experience all around - I could not imagine a worse hop on hop off bus system. I bought my tickets online and had a hell of a time trying to find the bus stops. Their map online is too low quality to read streets. Finally I got a paper map and still struggled because the map is cartoony and the street positions don't match with real life. If you happen to stumble upon the correct stop you'll be treated to an uncomfortable bumpy ride with an absolutely useless audio guide. On four different buses I got three different guides and only the first actually announced the stops leaving me to consult Google maps to try and figure out where I was. The facts and tidbits offered by the guide were almost at random rarely having any connection to your location. Almost all the building descriptions were so generic it was completely impossible to determine which building they were talking about. On two of the buses the guide would skip and stop constantly interrupting and skipping narration. Would not recommend.
