- Blackness Castle - Our first stop is Blackness Castle, a remarkable fortress known as “the ship that never sailed.” Enjoy its distinctive shape, explore the ramparts, and take in the stunning views. The travel time is 45 minutes, and we’ll spend up to 45 minutes here, with an option to enter the castle for £8 per person.
- The Kelpies & The Helix - The Kelpies are impressive 100-foot tall horse-head sculptures, constructed in 2013 between Falkirk and Grangemouth. Originally, kelpies were associated with human sacrifices to water gods, but the tale evolved to caution children against playing near lochs and dangerous rivers.
- Falkirk Wheel - Located in Tamfourhill, Falkirk, the Falkirk Wheel is a rotating boat lift that connects the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. It reopened the connection between the two canals for the first time since the 1930s and was inaugurated in 2002 as part of the Millennium Link project.
- Stirling Castle - Situated in Stirling, this is one of Scotland’s largest and most significant castles, both historically and architecturally. Perched on an intrusive crag, part of the Stirling Sill geological formation, it is surrounded by steep cliffs on three sides, providing a strong defensive position. Its strategic location, guarding the farthest downstream crossing of the River Forth until the 1890s, has made it a key fortification since ancient times.
- National Wallace Monument - The National Wallace Monument is a 67-meter tower on Abbey Craig, a hilltop overlooking Stirling, Scotland. It honors Sir William Wallace, a Scottish hero from the 13th and 14th centuries.
- Dunfermline Abbey and Palace - Our journey continues into the Kingdom of Fife, with a stop at Dunfermline Abbey. This ancient abbey, with its royal connections, offers a rich history to explore. Wander through the ruins and admire the intricate stonework. The travel time is 30 minutes, and we will spend up to an hour here.
- Edinburgh - The tour concludes with a return to your drop-off location in Edinburgh.
The drive back to Edinburgh takes approximately one hour, crossing the Queensferry Crossing.

Recommend Alan - We were challenged with time to see all the amazing sights around Edinburgh. We booked a day tour to get to the highlights. Alan contacted us the day prior to plan a tour to suit us all. From the moment he picked us up in morning he made sure the day was tailored to us. And we set a challenge with many varied interests. He was incredibly knowable, showed a real love in the country and making it the best day for us. He even learnt about our later journey and continued to provide incredible recommendations for our trip. I recommend that you ask for Alan when booking. He is a delight to spend the day with and will make your day the best he can. Thanks Alan. We hope to see you again when you visit Australia.

Best Tour Guide and experience of the lowlands we could have expected - We covered a lot of territory in one day and Ross was an excellent guide. He was very informative about the local area and what was available to see. He got us to each site we chose safely, comfortably, and efficiently. His suggestions for each area and foods were excellent, and we were able to experience Scottish culture and history up close. I wish we could have hired him for our whole trip to Scotland! Would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone who travels to Scotland and wants an excellent guide. Thank you, Ross!

The Perfect Day - Ross was incredibly knowledgeable about each iconic location we stopped at. He was considerate of our time and made sure we saw everything we wanted to see and got to the next place so we would have time to enjoy it.

No Better Guide! - Spent a magnificent day with Ross touring around the lowlands. We (6) were staying in Edinburgh, but there were a number of things outside of Edinburgh we needed a car to see, so we hired Ross to take us around. I could not believe how much he was able to get into our day by carefully planning the stops. Ross was very knowledgeable about Scotland and we had some great discussions as we traveled around. We enjoyed friendly banter, and it was just a fun, relaxed atmosphere all day. (A bonus is that Ross also takes great photos). I hope to make it back to Scotland someday, and if I do, Ross will be the first person I call to arrange a tour guide!

Best guide in Scotland - Ross was an amazing guide! He is very kind and knowledgeable. He customized a tour for us including lunch, Stirling castle, Whiskey and gin tasting, feeding the highland cows, and visiting the Kelpies. He had cold drinks and picked up local snacks for us. He is very easy going, witty, and fun. I would definitely encourage anyone looking to explore Scotland to contact Ross!

Best guide ever! Knew the area and rolled with the punches - Ross was the best guide ever! He adjusted our day trip based on our interest and accommodated unexpected challenges with Grace and humor. He was highly knowledgeable and kept the conversation lively. The ride was very comfortable and we loved the snacks!
