• Balquhidder - After leaving Edinburgh, the journey heads north through the central belt of Scotland. The guide will captivate with tales of Scotland’s historical figures like William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, who claimed this region as their own. Along the way, you’ll see royal palaces, the mythical Kelpies, and the historic Stirling Castle.

Upon reaching the first stop of the day, nestled among the lush hills of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, take a moment to stretch, enjoy a coffee or some baked treats, and refresh before continuing north on the bus.

Please note, during the winter season, the stop is at Callander instead of Balquhidder.

• Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park - As the tour travels through the ‘Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park,’ the bus winds through hills, mountains, and glens. These remote areas were once home to Highland Clans, including Scotland’s famed outlaw, Rob Roy MacGregor, often likened to The Scottish Robin Hood. As you gaze across the landscape, imagine the past while listening to thrilling tales of betrayal and revenge from your guide. If the famous ‘Hairy Highland Coos’ are spotted, there might be a chance for a selfie.
• Glencoe - Glencoe is the site of one of Scotland’s most infamous massacres. As you look at the haunting hills, the Glen’s eerie silence is palpable. In the 17th century, a significant act of betrayal took place here. The guide will share the details of this event. The mountains of the ‘weeping valley’ seem to echo the sorrow. Despite its history, Glencoe remains one of Scotland’s most stunning landscapes, a highlight of any Scottish Highlands tour!
• Fort William - The tour continues through Fort William, passing the majestic Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the British Isles. The Nevis Range looms over the winding road as the journey proceeds to Glenfinnan.
• Glenfinnan Viaduct - The iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, spanning 1000 feet and carrying the railway 100 feet above the ground, overlooks Loch Shiel on its way to Glenfinnan Station.

This breathtaking viewpoint is also where Prince Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie) raised his standard before the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion. Climb to the top of the monument for the best views of the Glen, as the guide shares the dramatic story of the ‘Young Pretender’ and his impact on European history.

For some, the viaduct is best known for its appearance in the Harry Potter film series. The aim is to arrive in time to see the Hogwarts Express (Jacobite Steam Train) cross the magnificent viaduct. Please note that the Jacobite Steam Train operates seasonally (schedule is determined by the train operator and may change).

• Commando Monument - Along the route, there will be a stop at the Commando Memorial. In 1942, this location became the training ground for Britain’s Special Forces. Harsh, unforgiving, yet breathtakingly beautiful, a statue of the heroes overlooks the Nevis range. Bring a camera – this is undoubtedly one of the best photo-stops in all of Scotland.

Weather permitting, Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the United Kingdom, may also be visible.

• Cairngorms National Park - Heading south, the tour travels through Cairngorm National Park, home to red squirrels, roe deer, red deer, soaring buzzards, pine martens, golden eagles, and ospreys. The final stop of the day is Pitlochry.
• Pitlochry - Pitlochry is located in the heart of the breathtaking scenery of Highland Perthshire. The town is nestled below Beinn Bhracaigh (Ben Vrackie), the speckled mountain, and beside the River Tummel, amidst some of Scotland’s most magnificent scenery. With surrounding hills and beautiful woodlands, it is a wonderful area for walking.
• Forth Bridge - As the tour re-enters Edinburgh from the north, views of Scotland’s greatest engineering feat, the Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, come into view. This 19th-century engineering marvel was once the world’s longest cantilever bridge. Today, it stands alongside the 20th-century Forth Road Bridge and the 21st-century Queensferry Crossing, which opened in 2017. Three spectacular bridges from three different centuries span the Firth of Forth, connecting the capital city and the Kingdom of Fife.
• Edinburgh - Upon returning to Edinburgh, drop-off will be in the city center. The estimated arrival time is 7 PM for tours departing at 7 AM, and 8:30 PM for tours departing at 8:30 AM. Please note that this can be affected by traffic and other factors beyond control.

It is recommended to allow 2 hours between the expected arrival time and any onward travel or reservations, as individual drop-offs are not available.
