Holyrood Distillery amazing must go! - We went to Holyrood Distillery in Edinburgh and had an incredible experience. Our tour guide, Cortney from California, was fantastic—engaging, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to listen to. We’ve visited several distilleries across Scotland, and her tour really stood out. The tasting experience was unique and thoughtfully done, and the bar offers a wide variety of drinks—all excellent. You’re welcomed with a drink at the start of the tour (I won’t spoil it), but it’s so good you’ll probably end up ordering it again afterward. The gin was exceptional—definitely a highlight for gin lovers—and the whisky was impressively innovative, blending new techniques with traditional character in a really cool way. It’s also worth noting that this is the only distillery in Edinburgh city, with the previous one having closed back in 1826. That alone makes it special. Overall, it’s a must-do when visiting Edinburgh. Pair it with a visit to Holyrood Palace—especially if you’re interested in Mary, Queen of Scots—and you’ve got a perfect day.

Can absolutely recommend this tour – a great experience from start to finish! - We had a fantastic experience visiting this small but very personal distillery right in Edinburgh. The tour, combined with the whisky and gin tasting was very enjoyable and informative. A special thanks to Guy, who was incredibly friendly and gave us a great behind-the-scenes insight into the distilling process. You could really feel his passion, which made the whole experience even more engaging. We also received excellent advice from his colleague in the shop, which helped my husband find the perfect whisky to take home.

Well worth a visit.. informative and humourous - We went on the tour on a Saturday. our guide Diego was fantastic. He was knowledgeable about all manner of spirits, not just their own.. the tour was good for those who only have a limited understanding of the Gin and Whisky making process and there were tasters of 3 different drinks... The bar in the Distillery is very good
