A must do when in Edinburgh (or Scotland) - What a truly fantastic experience! From the booking process right through to the tour itself: Amazing! While looking for a tour like this, I came across the Highland Experience Tours website via GetYourGuide. I was expecting a standard chatbot reply to my question but instead received very personalised advice and a 48-hour reservation hold so I could finalise my booking (and the rest of my trip). The tour itself was beautiful. Our guide, Ben, is a natural! He told us it was only his first season but he was born for this. Wonderful stories throughout the tour about Scotland's history, perfectly complemented by fitting music for the story or location. We did the 2-day tour from Edinburgh to the Highlands, including a ride on the Jacobite steam train (a.k.a. the Hogwarts Express). Highly recommended!

Best Highland Highpoints - Our guide and bus driver Paul was extraordinary! He made every stop interesting and I felt like I had gained a good deal of Scottish history in just a very short time. Paul went out of his way to be helpful and create a memorable experience. We loved the Jacobite steam train ride, the boat tour, Loch Ness, the bed and breakfast at Fort Augustus, the Glenco stop and all the extra places we got to see. Thank you!

He was so knowledgeable about the history of the tour and went the extra mile to show us little extra things. Our Accommodation at Rose Cottage B&B was excellent, the best breakfast ever and the hosts were the nicest people 😀.well worth the money.

Two days well spent! - First of all, this 2 day journey covered everything we were hoping to experience in the highlands: Clava Cairns, Culloden, Loch Ness & Urquhart castle, and the beloved Jacobite Steam Train ride. Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, our driver/guide, Paul, was phenomenal!! He engaged the entire group on board right from the start with stories about Scottish history mingled with stories of his growing up in Scotland. IMHO, it was worth every pence (penny). Make the time to take this tour.

Can't wait to get visit again! - Our original interest lay with the steam train ride. However this visit uncovered so much more: sacred ancient burial sites, breathtaking highland landscapes, legendary Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. Plus an incredibly knowledgeable and responsive tour guide. Looking forward to our returning soon!

Best Scottish Tour Ever - Affordable and great experience for the price! A wonderful taste of Scotland in a short two day trip and Stephen B was the BEST guide ever. He was so knowledgeable and so authentically funny with that Scottish humor. Would absolutely recommended this tour experience to everyone.

A joyful Jacobite Experience - We had a wonderful time on the Jacobite Experience tour with Paul. He was an amazing guide; so organised, caring and knowledgeable. We really appreciated his Scottish storytelling skills and his advocacy for Highland Cows. The train ride was amazing - such a highlight - and we enjoyed each of the stops.

So much fun - Thoroughly enjoyed this trip. I was a solo passenger that joined a group of 19. I was pleased to see there was quite an age range and I wasn't the only person traveling by themselves. Our driver and guide was informative and helpful. Thank you Jaime!

For those who love to stop often and eat many snacks - We made long stops just to buy snacks and stopped many times for a few minutes to take photos by the roadside. Although it was planned in the itinerary, we weren't able to stop to see Loch Ness or Urquhart Castle (Not entirely true, since we saw them from the side of the road.) The train was beautiful from the outside but there is no real interest to be inside. It must be much more beautiful to see the viaduct from the outside. Furthermore, part of the group took the train for the outward journey, and the other part for the return journey. We had to wait again, doing nothing, until the rest of the group arrived. In short the scenery was beautiful, but only from the bus, from the train and from the side of the road. I was really looking forward to this excursion and I was very disappointed.
