The Loch Lomond and Trossachs area has recently been designated a National Park, inspiring writers and artists with its stunning landscape for centuries.
- Aberfoyle - Continuing our journey, we soon reach the village of Aberfoyle, the gateway to the Trossachs, where we will pause for lunch. Known for its lochs, glens, and heather-covered mountains, this area is often referred to as ‘Scotland in Miniature’ and was a favorite of Sir Walter Scott, who set his works ‘Rob Roy’ and ‘The Lady of the Lake’ here.
- National Wallace Monument - Enjoy the breathtaking views over the Forth Valley towards the Wallace Monument, a 200-foot memorial to William Wallace, the hero immortalized in the film ‘Braveheart’.
- Stirling Castle - Next, we head to Stirling, where you will have the chance to visit the Castle. With at least an hour’s stop on the castle esplanade, you can explore the castle or other nearby attractions and admire the splendid views over the Forth Valley towards the Wallace Monument, a 200-foot tribute to William Wallace, the hero celebrated in the movie ‘Braveheart’.
- The Kelpies & The Helix - Standing at 30 meters high, the Kelpies are the largest equine sculptures in the world, depicting mythical creatures from Scottish folklore.
