• Callander - After leaving Edinburgh, the journey heads north through the central belt of Scotland. The guide will share fascinating tales of Scotland’s historical figures like William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. Along the way, you’ll see royal palaces, the mythical Kelpies, and the historic Stirling Castle before reaching the first stop in Callander. Known as “The Gateway to the Highlands,” Callander is located on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, an area renowned for its natural beauty.

This stop is perfect for a comfort break, allowing you to stretch and refresh before continuing into the highlands.

If the famous ‘Hairy Highland Coos’ are spotted, there will be a chance for a selfie (seasonal availability from mid-November to March).

Please note that during the summer, the first coach of the day will take the route in reverse, with a different comfort stop before Callander.

• Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park - As the tour enters The ‘Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park,’ the bus navigates through hills, mountains, and glens. These remote areas were once home to Highland Clans and Scotland’s famous outlaw, Rob Roy MacGregor, often likened to The Scottish Robin Hood. As you take in the scenery, the guide will share thrilling stories of betrayal and revenge.
• Glencoe - A brief stop at Glencoe reveals the site of one of Scotland’s most infamous massacres. The haunting silence of the Glen is palpable. In the 17th century, a notorious act of betrayal took place here, and the guide will recount the details. The sorrow of the ‘weeping valley’ is almost tangible, yet Glencoe remains one of Scotland’s most stunning landscapes, a highlight of any Scottish Highlands tour!
• Fort William - The tour continues through Fort William, passing the majestic Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the British Isles. The Nevis Range looms over the winding road as the journey proceeds to Loch Ness.
• Fort Augustus - Eager to catch a glimpse of ‘Nessie’?

Fort Augustus, a picturesque Highland village on the southern shores of the Loch, offers the chance to enjoy a fantastic 1-hour cruise on the loch with Cruise Loch Ness.

The local crew shares their Nessie experiences as you search with the help of state-of-the-art sonar equipment scanning the loch’s nearly 900-foot depths (tickets not included in the tour booking).

For those opting out of the boat cruise, there is time to explore the village and its beautiful Caledonian Canal lock system, designed by the renowned engineer Thomas Telford in the 19th century, which descends through the village into Loch Ness. A walk along the canal and into the countryside offers views of mountains, farm animals, and possibly red deer.

• Commando Monument - The route includes a stop at the Commando Memorial. In 1942, this area served as the training ground for Britain’s Special Forces. Harsh, unforgiving, yet breathtakingly beautiful, a statue of the heroes overlooks the Nevis range. Bring a camera – this is one of the most favored photo-stops in Scotland.

Weather permitting, Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the UK, can also be seen here.

• Cairngorms National Park - Traveling south, the tour passes through the Cairngorm National Park, home to red squirrels, roe deer, red deer, soaring buzzards, pine martens, golden eagles, and ospreys. The final stop of the day is Pitlochry.
• Pitlochry - On the way south, a stop in Pitlochry allows for a leg stretch and fresh air. This charming town is nestled in the heart of Highland Perthshire’s stunning scenery. It lies beneath Beinn Bhracaigh (Ben Vrackie), the speckled mountain, and beside the River Tummel, amidst some of Scotland’s most magnificent landscapes. With surrounding hills and beautiful woodlands, it is a wonderful area for walking.
• Forth Bridge - As the tour re-enters Edinburgh from the north, views of Scotland’s greatest engineering feat, the Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, greet you. This 19th-century marvel was once the world’s longest cantilever bridge. Today, it stands alongside the 20th-century Forth Road Bridge and the 21st-century Queensferry Crossing, which opened in 2017. Three remarkable bridges from three different centuries span the Firth of Forth, connecting the capital city and the Kingdom of Fife.
• Edinburgh - The tour concludes with a drop-off in the city center, with an estimated arrival time of 8:30 PM. Please note that during winter, the arrival may be earlier than estimated.

It is recommended to allow 2 hours between the expected arrival time and any onward travel or reservations in case of delays, as individual drop-offs are not available.

• Minimum age to travel is 7 years old. Photo ID, such as a passport, may be required. Children (8-17) must be accompanied by an adult.
• This tour has been designed to show you as much of Scotland as we can fit into one day! Due to the distance driven a large portion of the tour is spent on the bus, taking in the views and scenery of Scotland. Any time not accounted for in the itinerary is spent travelling through Scotland on the bus.
• For insurance purposes, passengers must not be unaccompanied on our buses during tour stops. Drivers take legally required breaks and cannot stay with the vehicle.
