• Callander - After leaving Edinburgh, the journey heads north through the central belt of Scotland. The guide will captivate with tales of Scotland’s historical figures like William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, who claimed this region as their own. Travelers will see royal palaces, the mythical Kelpies, and the ancient Stirling Castle before reaching the first stop in Callander. Known as “The Gateway to the Highlands,” Callander is located on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, an area renowned for its natural beauty.

A comfort break is scheduled here, allowing exploration of the town’s charming gift shops, delicatessens, and bakeries. It’s a perfect spot to stretch and refresh before continuing into the highlands.

If the famous ‘Hairy Highland Coos’ are spotted, there will be a stop for a selfie (seasonal availability from mid-November to March).

• Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park - As the tour enters The ‘Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park,’ the bus navigates through hills, mountains, and Glens. These remote areas were once home to Highland Clans and Scotland’s notorious outlaw, Rob Roy MacGregor, often likened to The Scottish Robin Hood. The guide will share thrilling stories of betrayal and revenge as travelers take in the landscape.
• Glencoe - A brief stop at Glencoe, the site of one of Scotland’s most infamous massacres, offers a chance to absorb the eerie silence of the Glen. In the 17th century, a significant betrayal took place here, and the guide will recount the details. The sorrow of the ‘weeping valley’ is palpable, yet Glencoe remains one of Scotland’s most stunning landscapes, a highlight of any Highland tour.
• Fort William - The tour proceeds through Fort William, passing the majestic Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the British Isles. The Nevis Range looms over the winding road as the journey continues to Loch Ness.
• Fort Augustus - Eager to catch a glimpse of ‘Nessie’?

Fort Augustus, a picturesque Highland village on the southern shores of the Loch, offers the chance to enjoy a 1-hour cruise on the loch with Cruise Loch Ness. The local crew shares their Nessie experiences, aided by state-of-the-art sonar equipment scanning the loch’s nearly 900-foot depths. Tickets are available on the day for cash (£21 for adults, £14 for children).

For those opting out of the boat cruise, there’s time to explore the village and its beautiful Caledonian Canal lock system, designed by the renowned engineer Thomas Telford in the 19th century, which descends through the village into Loch Ness. A walk along the canal and into the countryside offers views of mountains, farm animals, and possibly red deer.

• Commando Monument - The route includes a stop at the Commando Memorial, where Britain’s Special Forces trained in 1942. The setting is harsh, unforgiving, and breathtakingly beautiful. A statue of the heroes overlooks the Nevis range. This is a prime photo opportunity, so bring a camera.

Weather permitting, Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the UK, may also be visible.

• Cairngorms National Park - Traveling south through the Cairngorm National Park, visitors might see red squirrels, roe deer, red deer, soaring buzzards, pine martens, golden eagles, and ospreys. The final stop of the day is Pitlochry.
• Pitlochry - On the way south, there’s a stop in Pitlochry to stretch and enjoy the fresh air. This charming town is nestled in the heart of Highland Perthshire’s stunning scenery. It lies below Beinn Bhracaigh (Ben Vrackie), the speckled mountain, and beside the River Tummel, amidst some of Scotland’s most magnificent landscapes. With surrounding hills and beautiful woodlands, it’s a wonderful area for walking.
• Forth Bridge - As the tour re-enters Edinburgh from the north, travelers will see Scotland’s engineering marvel, the Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This 19th-century wonder was once the world’s longest cantilever bridge. It now stands alongside the 20th-century Forth Road Bridge and the 21st-century Queensferry Crossing, which opened in 2017. These three remarkable bridges span the Firth of Forth, connecting the capital city with the Kingdom of Fife.
• Edinburgh - The tour concludes with a drop-off in the city center, with an estimated arrival time of 8:30 PM. During the winter season, arrival may be earlier than expected.

• This tour has been designed to show you as much of Scotland as we can fit into one day! Due to the distance driven a large portion of the tour is spent on the bus, taking in the views and scenery of Scotland. Any time not accounted for in the itinerary is spent travelling through Scotland on the bus.
• For insurance purposes, passengers must not be unaccompanied on our buses during tour stops. Drivers take legally required breaks and cannot stay with the vehicle.
