The highlight of this... - The highlight of this experience besides the monuments was the tour guides and driver. Zaina Muhammad and Dr. Gerber truly made this experience redeemable. It is truly off putting to pay a lot of money for an experience and see when a company is trying to profit as much as possible from you. The hotels selected were not up to par were not clean and did not offer basic amenities. When asked for this to be rectified I was blown off an told nothing could be done until the next day only to waste more time the next day as they had not even attempted to rectify the situation. I had to look up a hotel my self (after already also disappointed in Cairo) wasting time from my vacation time to take care of this and on top pay for this mistake myself. The attempted solution for this was a free trip to Alexandria and a free lunch which was covered by Dr. Gerber himself who was not associated with the wrong doing of this situation at all however heard about it and wanted to rectify it. I complained the first days after being placed in an Inn in Cairo instead of a decent even 3 star hotel, for which I had to go downstairs to ask for basic items as my room did not even have a phone to call reception and that was not an amenity offered in that room (a clear attempt at providing the least service possible to save money) after complaining I was told the this will be made up for on the next hotel. The next was the boat for which I received the same room as other clients for the tour who paid much less. There was no redemption at the next place I just got the room I was already going to get. When it was time for sharm el sheik was the worst experience again the hotel was dirty paint was chipping off the view was of the back of a wall and the beach required walking across the plaza only to be at a crowded sectioned off space where there were no available chairs. I can’t help but think this was the intention, once I had lived through each experience I couldn’t take it back and they had made their money. I felt scammed. Again I would like to say that Zaina Muhammad and Dr. Gerber were truly the best. Muhammad defended me every morning and made sure I had my to go breakfast box a relief to feel looked out for when you’re in a vulnerable situation. Zaina was a breath of fresh air and truly made me feel at ease inspiring trust and being compassionate of my situation. And Dr Gerber although I only met him once took me to dinner without asking for anything at all from me and I met one of his friend and truly had a great time even after he heard of my bad experience he stepped in to make it better. This tour company must make the effort to give their clients what they are told they are buying do not try to deceive them people are not stupid they may not say it to your face like I did but it will certainly get around that are leaving Egypt with a bad taste in their mouths mostly because of these kinds of experiences, it was certainly one of the reasons I delayed this trip after having traveled to so many places.
