- Fossen Bratte - Fossen Bratte translates to steep waterfall, and it lives up to its name: The Eikedalselva River cascades down a single drop of 79 meters. We pause briefly for photos at this waterfall, then drive a few hundred meters along the old road to experience what driving on Norwegian roads was like in the past.
- Steinsdalsfossen Waterfall - The Steinsdalsfossen waterfall near Norheimsund is a breathtaking sight. Visitors can walk behind it without getting wet. Formed in 1699 when the river changed course, it stands approximately 50 meters tall. A path allows you to walk between the rock face and the water without getting wet, making it one of Norway’s most visited waterfalls. Tourist information and public restrooms are conveniently located at the car park. A short path over an old stone arch bridge leads to the waterfall. A cozy café behind the bridge offers a chance to relax and listen to the stream. We stay here for just under 30 minutes, with only a 10-minute drive to our next stop in Norheimsund.
- Norheimsund - Explore the charming town of Norheimsund, beautifully situated on the Hardangerfjord. Enjoy the scenic views and delightful atmosphere. Norheimsund features several restaurants and a small shopping center with a bistro. Our stay here is about 45 minutes, providing ample time for a quick lunch break. The driver will indicate where the bus will depart later.
- Kvanndal - After a 40-minute drive along the Hardangerfjord, we arrive at the ferry in Kvandal. The ferry departs at 2 p.m., with a crossing time of just 20 minutes. Facilities include restrooms and a small kiosk. The upper deck offers excellent photo opportunities. It’s a delightful experience.
- Utne - The ferry arrives in Utne, a picturesque village on the Hardangerfjord. Utne retains its old-world charm with well-maintained streets and traditional wooden houses, offering a rare glimpse into the past. Enjoy the stunning fjord views, admire the 300-year-old Utne Hotel, and soak in the tranquil ambiance of this hidden gem.
- Herand - We pause in the village of Herand, stopping at a small marina beautifully located on the Hardanger Fjord. Facilities include a self-service kiosk and public restrooms. The journey to the ferry quay in Jondal is just 15 minutes.
- Hardangerfjord - The drive from Utne to Jondal along road 550 is a scenic journey along the Hardangerfjord. The distance is about 36 km, taking approximately 35 minutes. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful scenery and admire the region’s characteristic orchards. This trip is highly recommended for those wishing to explore Norway’s stunning nature. Photo stops will be made as weather and time allow.
- Jondal Municipality - The ferry from Jondal to Tørvikbygd departs precisely at 15:20. We cross the main arm of the Hardangerfjord here. Facilities include restrooms and a self-service café. The upper car deck offers excellent photo opportunities. The landscape is breathtaking. The crossing takes about 20 minutes.
- Tørvikbygd - At approximately 15:50, the ferry docks in Tørvikbygd. From here, we head directly to Bergen.
- Bergen - We will return to Bergen Tourist Information at approximately 17-17:30.
